Horse racing is a significant, multimillion-dollar industry here in Pennsylvania. In order to improve accountability of the racing industry, we must modernize fingerprinting and background check requirements to maintain the integrity of the sport.

Voting by mail is safe and secure here in Pennsylvania. If you plan to #vote by mail this November, here is some critical information to know about the process.

Both PATH and Jeanes help Northeast Philadelphians daily. This funding will allow both entities to continue their crucial work for our neighborhood. I am beyond proud to have secured funding for these two projects that will greatly benefit our community.

Not only is Jalen Hurts an outstanding leader at the Linc on Sundays, but he’s a true pillar in our community. I am grateful that he is donating $600,000 to install AC units at Northeast High School, making the learning environment safer for all students! Thank you, QB 1! #GoBirds

It was such an honor to be a part of the historic ceremonial #PAHouse session at Congress Hall in Philadelphia. There's no better place to be than on the Independence Mall to celebrate our democracy and the 250th anniversary of the United States of America!

I had the opportunity to thank and talk with our Governor@joshshapiropa.bsky.social about the cost of living adjustments (COLA) that he signed into law for our retired police officers, fire fighters, and teachers. This legislation is for not only our Commonwealth, but Northeast Philadelphia.

I cannot thank the Governor enough for his leadership and getting this budget across the finish line. The Home Run Derby was in our city last night….although Schwarber didn’t win. We, in the House of Representatives and the Governor’s office, hit a home run with this budget.

It wasn’t easy, but we now have #PABudget! Thank you to all my colleagues & especially our staff for working hard to bring a cost-of-living increase to our retired police officers, firefighters, and teachers, increase education funding & give working families the help they need.

In observance of the Fourth of July, my office will be closed from 1 P.M. tomorrow, Friday, July 3 - Monday, July 6. We wish you and your loved ones a happy Fourth of July as we celebrate our country’s 250th birthday!

The heartbreaking loss of UPenn student, Sarah Katz, in 2022, should be a wake-up call. Highly caffeinated drinks, without notice, can be dangerous. My bill (HB2377) is simply calling for restaurants to label their menus and inform individuals on which drinks are high in caffeine.

I was honored to present a check for $50,000 to the Fox Chase Civic Association for improvements to Lions Park and the surrounding area in NE Philadelphia. This grant money will be used to put American flags along Oxford Ave. and improve Lions Park by rebuilding the gazebo and fixing the clock.

This week marks National Police Week. During this time, let’s recognize our courageous police officers, State Troopers, and law enforcement for the risk they take everyday to protect and serve us. We also remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

This week, we honor and recognize our nurses for the incredible work they do in keeping us healthy and safe. Thank you for all that you do. I’ll always support our nurses!

Teachers devote their life’s work to educating our students and creating brighter futures for them. During this Teacher Appreciation Week, let’s make sure to give the teachers in our lives their flowers for all they contribute!

You can’t think of Northeast Philadelphia and not think of Rhawn Street - it runs through the heart of the Northeast from the river to Rockledge. This repaving project will allow commuters to continue using it to travel on for years to come.

I'm proud to be a part of the Blue-Green Caucus. Our package of bills is essential to lowering utility costs, improving efficiency, and providing opportunities for good union jobs. It's crucial that we modernize PA's energy sector.

Today is Autism Acceptance Day, a great time to celebrate the amazing and unique individuals with autism. It’s important that we continue to forge strong support and love for our friends, neighbors and family members who have autism.

When you file your taxes, you may be eligible for the working Pennsylvanians tax credit, which can put up to $800 back in your pockets. Contact my office today to see if you qualify!

We must invest in those that help us and help our neighbors. It's time to fund peer support, fund recovery and fund real change in Pennsylvania by investing in Certified Peer Specialists.

Women’s History Month marks a great time to celebrate and recognize all the invaluable contributions women have made to our society, while continuing to push for women’s equality. Please know that I will always push for legislation that creates a better Pennsylvania for our incredible women!
