Today’s news represents the latest outrageous attack by an out-of-control federal administration against Minnesota and its elected leaders. I stand with my Congresswoman.

I’m outraged by this attack on Representative Omar. Trump and his DOJ have a bizarre obsession with tearing down Minnesota, our leaders and our communities. This latest action, even as voting has already started in Minnesota, is a transparent attempt to interfere in our elections.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

The timing of this raid and reports that a White House official was involved raise serious questions that should concern all Americans, regardless of political party.

Minnesota is stronger because of our Somali neighbors. We stand together, we look out for one another, and we will never let hate define who we are.

Trump’s obsession with demonizing the Somali community is dangerous and reprehensible. Hate to break it to him: Somali Minnesotans are resilient. We will not let Trump intimidate us. Our neighbors have our back.

Somali Minnesotans are our neighbors. They are part of Minnesota. And the Minnesota I know and love is so much better than this bigotry.
