American farmers are expected to pay $2.4 billion MORE for diesel alone this year. In Minnesota, farmers are taking an extra $1,900 hit to the pocketbook just to fill their fuel tank in the yard.   Trump has some nerve to brag about making a “freaking fortune” from the sky-high oil prices.

The DOJ is once again refusing to cooperate with Minnesota officials in the investigation into what happened to Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Reeks of a cover-up.

We know what they are trying to hide: the truth. Renee and Alex should still be here today. Operation Metro Surge was carried out by a lawless federal police force empowered by the president to use fear and violence.   The Good and Pretti families deserve answers. So do Minnesotans.

Farmers deserved affordable fuel in the first place instead of a retroactive check. The USDA payout will help (if it materializes) but they're rightfully pissed they need a payout at all.   They’re tired of this dancing around the real solution: Ending the war.

I think people don't really always think about this, but AI companies are at risk of creating a massive financial bubble and have yet to prove they can make the profits to back it up.

We need to be prepared for what happens if it pops. Americans should not be forced to pay the price for their risky bets with a taxpayer-funded bailout.

The President and Republicans are betting the entire farm hoping AI will pan out, but we have yet to see that’s realistically going to happen.

I’m outraged by this attack on Representative Omar. Trump and his DOJ have a bizarre obsession with tearing down Minnesota, our leaders and our communities. This latest action, even as voting has already started in Minnesota, is a transparent attempt to interfere in our elections.

This is their corrupt playbook: Use all the powers of the federal government to attack our leaders. Deploy an out of control, violent federal police force to invade our communities and kill and injure Minnesotans. Launch baseless and hateful attacks on the Somali community.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, I want to say Pidamayaye and Miigwech to Tribal Nations and Native communities in Minnesota and beyond for your partnership and friendship over the years.

Honoring your sovereignty and upholding our government-to-government relationships is central to my responsibilities as Senator, and I look forward to standing with you long into the future.

Data centers epitomize the power Big Tech has over communities. People point to these buildings as proof that Big Tech plays by a different set of rules, and get pissed that data centers are built over the objections of the people who live around them (often with taxpayer $$)

And to rub salt in the wound, these tech companies are forcing local officials on city councils or county boards to sign NDA’s so they can’t even tell their own constituents what’s going on. No wonder Minnesotans don’t trust these guys.

AI companies love to claim they’re SO special they need special treatment and can’t follow the same rules other dangerous technologies are bound by, and that’s just bullshit.

You build a product that will harm people and put them out of work? Then your company has to face the consequences when that harm happens.

Incredibly grateful for our state and federal law enforcement partners who were able to foil this terrorist plot at the Mall of America before it could take place.

Reports are swirling around that tech companies are cashing in on corporate tax breaks from the Big Beautiful Bill to bankroll massive data centers. So I am requesting Congress’s official tax estimators provide a full report on just how much money Republicans shelled out to these corporations.

These companies were going to build most of these data centers regardless of the tax incentives, so we should question the fiscal rationale of these incentives. It also sounds ripe for corruption, considering these companies routinely donate millions to the President’s campaigns.

They spend all this time and money defending Richard Nixon but can’t prosecute the men in the Epstein Files?

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

BREAKING WSJ: The Trump Justice Department is reviewing whether the special prosecutor's office that investigated Watergate committed misconduct. A revisionist historian went to DOJ HQ to present his case that Richard Nixon and his associates weren't treated fairly.

They’ll probably ship our minerals to China, where Antofagasta has a sweetheart deal. Meanwhile, we likely lose some of our most precious public lands.

You’re telling me the guy who said “LET DATA REIGN” just poured cold water on the only bipartisan AI safety talks that seem promising?

Semafor@semafor.com

🟡 NEW: The Senate’s bipartisan AI safety talks are at a standstill now, and there will be no committee action before the election. www.semafor.com/article/09/2...

People on both sides of the aisle have good ideas and substantive, bipartisan bills to hold these companies accountable when they cause harm. President Trump is what stands in the way.

New Richland endured nine inches of rain from just one storm, flooding the town and forcing residents to evacuate. The anxiety from residents is palpable. It’s going to take an all-hands-on-deck effort to recover, clean up the damage and get the community back on its feet.

Visiting with farmers in Lamberton today and their message was clear. Producers need stability and consistency so they can plan for the next season, not more chaotic trade wars and price hikes due to the war in Iran.

Thank you to Brent and Jane for welcoming me to your farm, and to all the farmers who took the time to share what’s happening in Minnesota. I am grateful for this chance to listen and promise to bring your stories back with me to Washington.

Trusting the same DOJ that covered up the Epstein Files to protect us from frontier AI… What could possibly go wrong?

Lots of ways to finally help young people afford their first home. 7% mortgage rates (and climbing) thanks to another endless war in the Middle East is not one of them.

The average age of a first-time homebuyer has never been higher (40 years old). This is only going to make things worse.

The problem for farmers isn’t just that diesel prices are high. It’s that diesel prices are high RIGHT BEFORE harvest season.

It’s not just a question of how long farmers can hunker down and endure high diesel prices. It’s a question of how many farms will go under because it’s just too much.

There is one thing we should be clear-eyed about right now: AI developers aren’t above the laws we have currently on the books. They can and should be prosecuted and held liable if they break the law and their products harm us.

The United States has no business sending Netanyahu billions of dollars’ worth of bombs after his record of indiscriminate violence against Palestinian civilians, including children.

John Hudson@johnphudson.bsky.social

NEW: The Trump administration is preparing a multibillion-dollar sale of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel in the largest single sale of the controversial munition in recent years, per U.S. officials

Not to mention Netanyahu routinely blocks the United States from seeking justice for our own citizens killed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. We’ll work to block this weapons sale, but the Administration will like use emergency authority to bypass accountability in Congress.

These big AI companies should be held civilly and/or criminally liable and prosecuted when their models hurt people. They don’t get a free pass just because they’ve now decided to admit to the dangers of what they’ve created.

The President and his party want to let Big Tech write their own rules. While he’s blocked any effort to rein in AI in Congress, that doesn’t mean there aren’t laws on the books we can use to protect people right now.

We just spent a month outside of the DC bubble and instead of coming back to address any of the concerns we heard back home (gas prices, Iran, data centers)

the FIRST thing Republicans made us work on is a crypto bill that benefits the industry that spent tens of millions of dollars bankrolling them in the last election.

We certainly need real crypto regulations that are much stronger than the CLARITY Act. But there seem to be bigger fish to fry right now!

Trump’s EPA will let power plants emit more lead, mercury and other chemicals into the air to be breathed in by you and your kids because he’ll do just about anything to help out the fossil fuel companies that funded his campaign

Unsurprising that Republicans are giving corporations (most of whom donated to their campaigns) the greenlight to pollute our air.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump EPA says it is eliminating rule that limits planet-warming pollution from coal and gas-fired power plants.
