At the ‘Retrofit, Obviously!’ conference today in London. The emergency briefing’s part around the economic opportunities was the most energising argument I’ve heard in a long time.

In 2 weeks I’ll be joining some wonderful speakers (and trying to be as interesting as them!) at this #cleanenergy event. 👇 Come learn about energy efficiency + transition tech, meet folk & make connections! And it's hybrid, so my face WILL be beamed all over the UK. God help us all! #greentech

And yes I posted the same message on LinkedIn but that’s okay because a) I wrote it thinking of you BlueSky 🦋 💙, and b) using LinkedIn makes me die a little.

Hi clean energy friends. This October I'll be at... ** How can we use good technology to scale the green energy sector? ** ☀️🍃 It's free, it's hybrid online/in-London and has some great speakers (even if I say so myself!). Maybe see you there? #cleanenergy #communityenergy #tech

Easily the tiniest, most rewarding change I’ve made to get off US tech is installing Vivaldi AND THEN updating my phone’s default browser settings. 🍎 I can’t yet bring myself to cut Chrome completely, but now random, unimportant links I click open in an ethical browser! 💙 vivaldi.com

vivaldi.comVivaldi Browser | Powerful, Personal and Private web browserIt’s a web browser. But fun. It comes with a bunch of clever features built-in. It’s super flexible and does not track you. Get the Vivaldi browser for desktop, mobile, and your car!

Moving off Google part 2 (and a nice mental hump to get over): deleting all my files on Google Drive and uploading them to Proton ✅ Next stop, the emails 😬😬😬

Interesting! We get asked about Gantt charts for Nook - typically when a “case” is a potential project (eg when cases relate to assessing potential sites for solar generations). One to check out methinks!

Tables are a terrible way to view time! 📊 Lauren built CiviGantt—a new extension that brings live Gantt charts for Cases & Grants directly into CiviCRM. No more spreadsheet exports! Check out the story & download it today: tinyurl.com/3vycbs6d #CiviCRM #OpenSource #DataVisualization #GanttChart

This has to be my new favourite argument to people who fret about taxing the hyper rich! 🥳

Andrew Cherry@kolektiv.xyncro.com

As an aside on this, the whole "if the hyper-rich leave, you're losing job creators!" seems like a weird thing to say for a (presumed) capitalist, right? Surely if there are profitable jobs to be created, and an incumbent leaves, the market would correct for that with new job creators?

Just wrapped up a very fun game of #CommunityEnergy Data Dilemmas! Thank you to all our adventurous #LondonDataWeek players. 🍌🎲🥳 I’m going to port this into a standalone game/workshop activity for anyone making tech products. Hit me up if you’re interested!

Excuse me for reposting this thread but, frankly, it took me a while to write and I quite like my little rant 🥸☺️ #genAI #AI #uxdesign

A really good thread! Thank you! I should use this with our clients 😅 🧵
