"From Revelstoke to Rock Creek to Richmond, and all over BC, TTOCs ensure that students are supported and engaged, often on incredibly short notice." —Clint Johnston, BCTF President. Read the full TTOC Appreciation Week message: www.bctf.ca/news-and-opp...

Many students today are really struggling with anxiety and other mental health challenges. They need more support from #bcpoli. Children and youth deserve access to school counsellors when they need it and where they're at - which is at their own #bced school. youtu.be/F1IZzcCN8RQ?...

Congratulations to Kelowna's Carole Gordon who has been elected as the next President of the BCTF. Gordon comes into the position with extensive experience as a local labour leader and with six years as the BCTF's 2nd and 1st Vice-President. #bced, read her bio ⬇️ www.teachermag.ca/post/newly-e...

Miigwech @niigaanwewidam.bsky.social for your sweeping, hopeful keynote at the #BCTF Annual General Meeting today. The Anishinaabe author and activist wove a vision of education as action for reconciliation, reciprocity, and mutual respect.

Thank you Shane John for sharing his wisdom and teachings to start our 2025 Annual General Meeting. For many generations, Canadians were taught profound untruths about Aboriginal peoples, history, and cultures. Today, teachers across #bced are committed to truth and reconciliation. #bctf

BC Conservatives learning the hard way that Twitter and Alt Right digital spaces are not real life. This is why you couldn’t pull out the win and now your party is toast. It only took 4 weeks of having to actually be serious people #bcpoli.

The BC Conservatives didn’t even make it 4 weeks of a Legislative session intact. Their Caucus is going to struggle under the weight of a massively DIS and MIS informed membership that thrived only in right wing online spaces. They won’t be an electoral threat in #bcpoli. Probably ever. More to come

That was a pretty big jolt here in Vancouver. The cats jumped and then definite #earthquake rumbles.

A recent poll shows British Columbians are overwhelmingly in support of the promise made by the BC NDP to put an education assistant in every primary classroom. See what else people are saying about BC schools: bit.ly/3QnLfXl

The irony in all this Trump Tariff madness is that it might end costing right wing rage bros like #cdnpoli’s Pierre Poilievre and #bcpoli’s John Rustad their political futures. Pandering to Maple MAGA in the worst way. True, proud, strong Canadians are going to rally together.

Pretty sure every time people cross from the Canadian border to the US border, they have to pass US CUSTOMS and US BORDER AGENTS. Hey America, secure your border. And Canadian right wing bros, stop acting like Trump’s weak little puppets and stand up for Canada. 🇨🇦 #cdnpoli #bcpoli

Y'all I just cannot with this ☠️

Whoa, Canada! Don’t make the same mistake New Zealand made! “Out of frustration we tried electing right-wing populists. Now things are worse.” Via @thetyee.ca thetyee.ca/Analysis/202...

I plan to post here a lot more often now. I thought I should introduce myself properly… My name is Niall and I help street dogs in Thailand. I post upbeat and happy dog recovery stories. This is my story… (1/10)

Our response www.bctf.ca/news-and-opp... “As a progressive government committed to quality public services, the BC NDP really needs to seize this moment and this message,” BCTF President Clint Johnston said. “Let’s make #BCed the educational beacon for all of Canada. Together, we can do it.” #bcpoli

The Trudeau Must Go crowd is going to get what they wanted… finally. He should have gracefully with fanfare left a year ago. But now the Libs get to go through a leadership race, raise money, sign up members, and be in a better place for the #cdnpoli election. 🍿

BCTF President Clint Johnston, a Chilliwack teacher, opened today's Executive Committee meeting with a tribute to Dan Coulter. He was a champion for inclusivity in #bced schools. He will be missed and our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. www.theprogress.com/local-news/f...

Hello #bced and #bcpoli! We're excited to be here with hopes of meaningful engagement with teachers, education workers, parents, media, and the public about our amazing schools and profession. We will actively work to protect our followers from the toxicity common on X by blocking and reporting.

Hey #bced #bcpoli folks. Great account to report and block. Spends his time harassing educators and LGBTQ+ folks over in the bad place and in person. Opened his 🦋 by being transphobic. Because that’s what he does.

We’re doing it! More to come soon, but time to return to a place of meaningful engagement in #bced and #bcpoli without the nonsense of X. The BCTF will be making the move and using 🦋 more and more. We encourage teachers, parents and media to refer to @bctf.bsky.social for BCTF news and commentary.

Everyone follow @safety.bsky.app on how this space deals with trolls and hate and moderation. So refreshing!! #bcpoli #bced

Ok BlueSky. Let’s see if we can get #bced and #bcpoli over here and leave that other hellscape behind once and for all.
