People in Los Angeles have been protesting 24 hours for 2 weeks straight and no news outlet is covering it! 8/8/25

Unfortunately, this is where we are headed... shameful...🥺

We should have the House right now. Let me say it again: we should have the House. This ain’t just a Texas problem, it’s a national problem. They’re stealing seats to keep power, and that’s how we ended up with Speaker Johnson instead of Speaker Jeffries. They can’t win fair, so they cheat.

60 years ago today, the Voting Rights Act became law. Now, we have an administration conducting voter suppression in real time. In Texas, Republicans are trying to gut our democracy by redrawing maps to erase 5 Democratic seats—before a single vote is cast. (1/2)

Look who kicked the bucket last night. I’ll raise a toast to that!🍻🥂 Have a great weekend.

#JasmineCrockett: “Clearly you’ve got something to hide Mr. President… We know that he had this ongoing relationship with #Epstein, they were basically like besties... We know that this is someone who has been found liable of sexual abuse by a jury of his peers… I know he’s got something to hide.”

WSJ: Jeffrey Epstein’s Friends Sent Him Bawdy Letters for a 50th Birthday Album. One Was From Donald Trump. The leather-bound book was compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell. The president says the letter ‘is a fake thing.’ 1/

Brother Bill’s operates a community market in my district—and every time they open the doors, families show up by the hundreds. They’re doing everything they can to fight hunger. But now they’ve got more people coming in, less food to give, and staff who can’t even afford to stay. (1/2)

NASA is more than rockets and moonwalks. NASA is behind much of our everyday technology. From space discovery, to Air Jordans, to CAT scans, NASA has played a role. We get it all on less than a penny of every federal dollar. Now their science may be gutted by 50%. #NASADidThat

We shouldn't need a Black Women’s Equal Pay Day, but here we are. Still underpaid. Still undervalued. 66 cents on the dollar means we lose thousands every year, for doing the same job. Over a lifetime? That’s hundreds of thousands gone. Pay Black women. Period.

This is not normal

There is deep rooted trauma that can resurface from your childhood when you start to spiral in perimenopause...mine stems from being the only Lil black girl in rural Indiana in the 80s...and now I'm turning 50 next week...and those traumas are swimming right back to me🤦🏾‍♀️#trauma#blackgirl#struggle

The Ku Klux Klan Acts (passed in 1870 & 1871 to protect 14th amend rights) were particularly focused on masked gunmen who violated the civil rights of Black people. We should remember this history when masked law enforcement ofcrs are deployed in our communities. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

BREAKING: The Supreme Court has granted Donald Trump’s emergency request to resume deporting migrants to countries other than their homeland, including places like South Sudan, with minimal notice.

Let's all be the rain on this motherfucker's parade. #NoKings #NoKingsDay

Today they have crossed a deep red line. We, the people, must hold the president and his appointees accountable for this outrageous abuse against American liberty.

We deserve this, Lord

Newsom: "He's been a stone cold liar about what he said we talked about. He never discussed the National Guard. Period. Full stop. I would love to share with you what he actually talked about. It would send shivers up your spine."

What happened to Senator Padilla is absolutely DISGUSTING. Point blank, period. This shit is out of control. Another elected official disrespected while doing their job. (1/2)

very fun to read frederick douglass accurately describe the problem with the pardon power in 1867

I’m officially running to be the Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee. These are not normal times—and this cannot be a business-as-usual moment. Read my full letter to my colleagues here: crockett.house.gov/media/press-...

#ProudBlue Bravo! 👏 More of this, please.

A viral post is spreading fear on all platforms, supposedly from Liz and Me, about a nonexistent bill—just like the far right used to do. We cannot become what we’re fighting. The truth still matters. We win by being better, not louder. adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/dont-fight...

🔥 @RepMcGovern: “THIS IS NOT POLICY. THIS IS THEFT… done under the cover of night.” #TrumpsTrillionsTransfer

This is truly sickening

Well, well, well. The Acting FEMA Administrator said eliminating FEMA wasn’t in the best interest of the American people — and guess what?!?! They FIRED him. I guess that’s what happens when you stand up to your power-hungry “boss”.

When the President of the United States says he doesn’t know if he should uphold the Constitution, it should be a searing red line for every American. If you let him ignore ANY aspect of the Constitution you embolden him to ignore more of it, including the parts that secure YOUR freedoms & rights.

Just incredible

Wearing a bright blue suit, texting, and then sleeping at Pope Francis’s funeral. What an embarrassing mess.

WHO ELSE AGREES WITH BARBRA?! 🤚

HE IS PROMISING TO SEND AMERICANS TO FOREIGN DEATH CAMPS. This is it. This is where America ends.

WOW: Thousands are currently protesting in Boston. This is just one of more than 1200 'Hands Off' protests underway today across the nation as people rise up against the Trump-Musk regime. (via Rob Way)

What if you’re so outrageously incompetent you get it done in a matter of minutes?

Disruption is all they seem to understand—so that’s exactly what they’re getting. For 14 hours, @booker.senate.gov has been on the Senate floor, speaking truth within the rules. This cannot be business as usual when our democracy’s on the line. Thank you, senator.
