Also forever wild to me that Rubocop enables rules like MinMaxComparison by default. Extra array allocation every time you want to pick the smaller or larger of two numbers, anyone?

Um… okay. What?

Seriously though. The perpetrators should go to prison. Everyone in that group chat needs to be investigated for possibly being an accessory. Cornell should pay damages and outline what steps they'll take to prevent this from happening again. The fraternity should shut down.

"A 2025 school survey found that 35% of undergraduate women and 8% of undergraduate men have reported experiencing sexual assault during their time at Cornell, the report said." WTF. Leadership needs to do something or step down. Why would anyone send their kids to a school like that?

interesting; it looks like Anthropic quietly pulled their donation of $150,000 in AI token credits to Omarchy. they no longer appear as a patron and this announcement post has scrubbed any mention of them. backlash… kind of works sometimes?

omarchy.orgOmacom Foundation secures $1.8M in tokens from leading labs - Omarchy NewsOmarchy isn’t just a beautiful, fun & agentic Linux distribution for those who end up using it. It’s also built that way! With beauty, fun, and a whole lot of tokens. In fact, Omarchy Quattro has almost exclusively been…

Has anyone been a very active @1password.bsky.social user, including their more advanced features (SSH key management, OTP, passkeys, team accounts, etc), and successfully migrated to an alternative? I've been using it for over a decade, but I'm upset about the direction the company has been taking.

I *hate* getting compliments that I don't feel I deserve or that I feel weren't actually honest. It is a real struggle for me. This has become extra annoying with LLMs. All the downsides with no gained value. Like, just shut up, stupid AI.

One of the fun things of having had tinnitus since I’ve been a child is that whenever I hear a weird noise it’s basically 50/50 on weather it’s real or not.

When you don't create things, you become defined by your tastes rather than ability. Your tastes only narrow & exclude people. So create.

@byroot.bsky.social hey. Just wanted to say you’ve done exceptionally well pushing Ruby forward. Truly aspirational. impact-wise comparable to my old friend ko1. I keep poking at things and you pop up. Thank you!

“We shot season 3 and 4 back to back” so what you’re telling me is you could still produce 20 episode seasons if you wanted to, you just don’t want to?

Got all the subscriptions. All of them. Every single one. Amazon Prime is the second worst streaming app (after Paramount+). Every other app at least manages to suggest I keep watching the one show I’ve been watching previously.

Rewatching The Expanse. Also read the books. Really enjoying it except for the “let’s crash Eros into the sun” plot line. Was your science advisor sick that day??

Shout out the the eight people who had a counter protest against the 60k racists, islamophobes, and “patriots” in London today, most of whom where to drunk and aggressive to be allowed into the pubs. “The enemies aren’t arriving on boats, the enemies arrive in private jets” one their signs read.

The BlueSky logo is a dead butterfly btw. Same with most butterfly emojis 🦋 (the wings aren’t in front of the head for life ones, this only happens when people pin down dead butterflies).

Shrinking season 1 and 2 were great, but I find season 3 to be super boring. How does it have 90% on RT? Feels like they just forgot to wrap it up?

Season 1 & 2: Let’s deal with depression, love, forgiveness, community, etc. Season 3: Is grandpa coming to graduation?

Grammarly has gotten very aggressive in its suggestions, to the point that so many of them would change the meaning of what I'm trying to express that I'm considering cancelling the service.

What's happening regarding oil/Iran is such a good argument for renewable energy that has nothing to do with climate change or the environment.

Tried out Steep on a bigger Ruby project. Gave up after a few attempts. I fail to see what's supposed to be gradual about it.
