The president is required to faithfully execute laws. The spending bill previously agreed to by Congress is law. Therefore, Trump refusing to execute that bill is a violation of the law, and another impeachable offense. In a normal world, that is.

Today, I told my 2 dept heads that our Dean should communicate with students/faculty/staff that they understand that the immediate pulling of federal funding for DEI-related work (& funding from other fed agencies) could jeopardize their research & careers. Just ANYTHING to show they understand.

I’m an NSF panel reviewer that was scheduled to meet today. Just got notice that all NSF panels were canceled today. I reviewed some innovative proposals in support of students. Devastating if these scholars don’t get to do this work. For the love of science & students I hope this is just a delay.💔

Nothing earth-shattering here, but great reminders to speak up, this a a marathon not a sprint, and don’t give up hope. But this part really stuck with me… refusing to accept Trump’s (or his Administration’s) false assumptions and stay grounded in the truth.
