Let's build a giant recommendation thread. Every few weeks I stumble across someone whose work makes me stop scrolling and think, "How have I never seen this before?" So I'd love your help. Tag a Tolkien artist whose work you love or share a favorite piece of their work.

The talent of the artists in the Tolkien fandom is like looking up at the stars in the night sky, first in the city, and then in the countryside--you see some at first, and then the more you look, the more there are twinkling and shining so brightly. And they're all so brilliant!

The event is coming together, and I’m excited to reveal the first confirmed artists! One of the things I've been most excited about while planning the Tolkien & Middle-earth Online Artist Exhibition is the opportunity to showcase the incredible talent within our community,

and I’m delighted to share some of these talented artists who will be joining us on August 15. These talented creators will be showcasing their work in the virtual gallery, alongside artist talks, community discussions, and opportunities to connect with fellow Tolkien fans.

Proud #Tolkien community moment: I have a hard rule that you must ask someone before you DM them in my spaces, and watching my folks practice that more brings me joy. It's important to practice consent, boundaries, and giving people the ability to say no even in small ways in Tolkien communities.

Did you know your favorite Tolkien content can often take hours of shooting, reshooting, writing, schedule, researching, editing, and more? I know a lot of creators offer their time, efforts, and knowledge as a labor of love, sometimes with ways to support them!

But sometimes it's a nice, never expected pickmeup just to see someone has bought you a coffee (or tea or miruvor or favorite drink/snack!). If you see this (and are able), consider checking out your favorite creator's links in bio!

Just finished watching season one of Frieren with my two Tolkien movie night groups (most of whom it was their first time watching it and some of whom aren't big into anime!). Who all here is a Frieren fan or who has been meaning to watch it? #Tolkien #LOTR #middleearth #anime #Frieren

If you haven’t dived into this piece from Tolkien before or if you’re a huge fan of Tom Bombadil himself or if you love song and poetry and whimsy, you’re going to want to join in. And you’re going to especially want to join in because if you know Jordan,

Something lovely for your feeds if you have some time today or want some beautiful, carefully crafted, M-e inspired and transportive music! Celtic Prog Rock Musician Dave Brons has a new album coming out today, as well as a launch party he's holding online shortly at 3p EDT that I'll be attending.

Well it really and truly is that day of the year: March 25... Tolkien Reading Day! (It's also the day of the downfall of Sauron and the destruction of the One Ring, of course. That may be an important thing that happens on this day, too.)

Let me know in the comments who your favorite Unlikely Heroes are from Tolkien's works (can be in the Legendarium or outside of it), what you're doing to celebrate Tolkien Reading Day (if anything!), and what passages you're reading if you are!

I wrote a small thing on Tolkien Reading Day events. Admittedly it's incredibly experiential, but then so is Tolkien Reading Day for me. I hope you'll take some time to read & share; I hope even more that I'll see you at one of the events happening either tomorrow or throughout the week. Link below!
