As someone who regularly chairs interview committees and makes hiring decisions… at least half the people on the panel probably have their caffeinated beverage of choice at the interview. In 20 years, this is the first I have ever heard of it being a problem. Probably because it isn’t a problem.
The Washington Post once got attention by cracking and exposing Watergate. Now, it's going viral with articles about whether you should drink iced coffee at interviews. What a comedown.

Observing The Discourse and wondering if these people know "clanker" started in an animated Star Wars show almost 20 years ago, referring to battle droids which were generally terrible compared to their human counterparts at the one thing they were built to do.
Again PEOPLE ARE EXPLICITLY TRYING TO THINK UP SLURS THAT RESEMBLE SLURS AGAINST ACTUAL PEOPLE. They are not being the least bit coy about it, they think it’s awesome and hilarious. You’re just refusing to notice it because this is Blusky and the only idea you’re allowed to have about AI is rage.

"Should ANY show exist which makes light of our hellworld and criticizes the president? We're not so sure."
The “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” ends this week. The demise of the long-running franchise made our critic Wesley Morris think of another late-night show: “Saturday Night Live.” Maybe, after 51 years, “SNL” should end, too. nyti.ms/42RZABJ
Yes. Yes it is. iPod Classic, click wheel and all, with a ridiculous battery, solid state storage, a decent display, wifi, bluetooth, and a limited App Store. We have the technology. The youth yearn for MP3 players. It will print money. I will buy 30 of them.
After being essentially flat for five years, Google searches for “MP3 Player” tripled since last fall. A Reddit group for fans of digital audio players is now attracting 90,000 visitors per week on average. The only problem: Apple discontinued its last iPod model in 2022.

You ever notice how, in most science fiction, the humans are still doing the vehicle driving? Could that indicate that maybe there are some things we never intended or wanted to automate, and that autonomous self-driving is some tech baby bullshit the majority of us don't want or care about?

This is a lot easier to understand when you've given up looking for humanity where there is none. This is a person-shaped billboard running on a depleted battery, only capable of displaying what it's been fed by the worst people on the planet. If fed nothing, it defaults to whatever this is. Easy.
Q: A number of Republicans have denounced your statement on Rob Reiner. Do you stand by it? TRUMP: Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.
No statement has ever made me feel so seen in my entire life. Thank you, @techconnectify.bsky.social.
I think we have run out of ideas when it comes to making money. All we have left are variations of "pay the peasantry to fight amongst themselves" on the short road to a future where all prosperity is lottery. We peaked at Windows 98 SE.
The co-founder of Kalshi says: " The long-term vision is to financialize everything and create a tradable asset out of any difference in opinion."
I made a thing! It’s a journaling/habit-tracking app, specifically the app I wanted to exist but didn’t. No account required, no ads or third-party sniffing allowed, and no “we need access to everything you have ever done” permissions. Check it out! Or don’t! But it’d be a lot cooler if you did!

A $60B company just paid a small town in Michigan $9M to set itself on fire so a $300B company can continue its quest for 100% human unemployment. I love it here.
Saline Twp. didn't have enough money to fight off a lawsuit from the developers and residents said they felt concerns would go unwarranted.
