Thanks to #SwiftUI 's powerful graphics APIs, I am this close to retiring my copy of Photoshop CS6 for good 🤏

The new top back backdrops that they introduced for Liquid Glass in iOS 27 make the folded Duo feel more cramped than it should be - wish I could turn them off.

I think the Duo makes a good case for MagSafe on iPad Mini. It's quite nice raised on a stand in open portrait mode.

I'm raising a 30k round for fol.ai, my AI Foley startup that is going to revolutionize how we produce the sound of metal hinges falling on the floor.

Completely coincidentally, 30k is what I would need to buy the domain.

Hitting that fun bug again where ViewThatFits shows View B but sizes for View B, fml

I find the Liquid Glass material really odd when layered, e.g. Find My has both a Plus Button and the Tab Bar layered atop a sheet and it just doesn't look good at any transparency setting.

Absolutely baffling the Photos widget can't show Shared Albums.

Given how careful Device Hub is not to waste screen real estate, they must have a 52" Studio Display XDR in the works

Deflated to find that – at the WOZ store – I can't pay for my WOZ Chardonnay with WozCoin.

I don't expect many apps to make great use of the partially folded config on iPhone Duo - dedicating half the screen to a sidebar feels wasteful and aligning content with the crease dynamically seems non trivial.

Building something like a two column text layout is a ton of work, especially with SwiftUI - the lack of powerful modern text APIs strikes again.

Pretty excited for Reeder on the iPhone Duo, hope it's not going to be a terribly long wait.

TIL San Francisco has a Contextual Alternative glyph for ƒ preceding numbers, in case you're talking about apertures like ƒ2 – sweet

A24 is issuing takedowns for all sorts of backrooms content on social media, as well as merch elsewhere right now, that have nothing to do with the movie. I feel like a lot of people were afraid this would happen. They just... own the backrooms concept now I guess. Frustrating

I wish Swift had a way to explicitly shadow certain type names from frameworks. #SwiftUI claims names List, Table (and now Documents as of iOS 27 beta 2) for types that we never use so we end up prefixing every with Linear all the time.

Operating at low mental capacity today so asking the hive mind to help me out, when are the next iOS 27 betas to be expected?

SwiftUI Perf Tip: In lazy containers (List, LazyVStack), each ForEach element should return a *constant* number of views. An AnyView or if inside the closure (0 or 1 views) hits a slow path. Fix: filter your data upfront. Debug arg: -LogForEachSlowPath YES 🔗 developer.apple.com/documentati...

docs.developer.apple.comForEach | Apple Developer DocumentationA structure that computes views on demand from an underlying collection of identified data.

I love the new #SwiftUI Text selection but without a way to make selection span multiple Texts in a group, it doesn't really address our needs at Linear – here's hoping we see an update in a later seed 🤞

Kinda wanna go back to freelancing *only* to design some really nice invoices
