@sohrabahmari.bsky.social I can't even see the bottom from these depths

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance: "When you're mean to Amy Acton, she sics the American media and of course the Democrat Party operatives all across the state of Ohio after you. But I think a person who is more worried about whether somebody says something mean about them, that person can never serve in the gov's mansion"

@goldengateblond.bsky.social the comments! (and good on her)

“I’m not going to work for a gambling company and have blood on my hands.” -- Nicole Noren, 24-year ESPN veteran and winner of Emmy, Murrow, and Peabody awards. Her grandfather, father and one of my brothers "were pretty much destroyed by sports gambling addiction." www.cjr.org/the-intervie...

I am unfamiliar with the "yell at the customer" variety of capitalism but it seems to me that it's not a great economic model. How about figuring out what folks in the poorest (by per capita income) MLB market will actually pay to sit in the upper rows of the 3rd deck?

Two different speeches. Rupar quoted last night, when Trump did not add “we can’t let that happen.” Acyn is quoting tonight’s, when Trump tries to backpedal. Tonight’s is probably closer to what he meant, but last night’s “You can take out LA or SD” is what got the applause. And that’s the story.

@joanwalsh.bsky.social about 15 skeets after yours which I found interesting

NEW! David Axelrod on the 2026 Midterms. How Big a Wave? "The Senate map was not promising for Democrats coming in. Now there are 11 states people are talking about...The thing about waves is you kind of hear the rumbling...It's growing...This could be really big." youtu.be/E2FySaVlIR4?...

@myeager42.bsky.social and I mean no disrespct to you and was gratified to read you still intended on voting for XB even with his noxious stance regarding trans athletes. It's just politicians don't get the luxury of tailoring a message to appease every voter with their preferred causes

@emptywheel.bsky.social sensing a trend

“Mr. Hochman’s trajectory is far from unique….. He has joined the growing ranks of those who have found that a public controversy — even one associated with a high-profile dismissal — is not disqualifying for entry into the top ranks of the Trump administration.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/06/u...
