34 years ago tonight I attended the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary Concert, where I saw live George Harrison, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, Tom Petty, Neil Young, and Bob of course. I also got to see goons boo Sinead O’Connor off stage. She was right then, she was right now.

I had such an incredible time making this podcast, thank you so much to Rob Kelly for having me on. We had a thorough rake through the life and work of Nick Ray, culminating in the swan song that is Lightning Over Water, the remarkable pseudodocumentary he made with Wim Wenders about his own death.

The world is, of course, a hellscspe right now. But just today two friends of mine showed unquestioning, immediate, unconditional generosity towards someone I was trying to help save from being homeless. There are still good people out there.

Warren Zevon, "Mr Bad Example", from 1991 for pete's sake "I'm very well acquainted with the seven deadly sins I keep a busy schedule trying to fit them in I'm proud to be a glutton, and I don't have time for sloth I'm greedy, and I'm angry, and I don't care who I cross"
