A dreary day, but at least there is still some color in the blueberry bushes and the apple trees which have not yet dropped all their leaves. Cloudy with spits of rain.

An excellent and informative read. We really need to be smarter (and humble) in how we “manage” the natural world. We’re not above consequences, and nature bats last.

Good morning! How are you holding up? What are you up to today? Our October has been unseasonably dry -- no measurable rain yet! -- but we're expecting a good drenching tomorrow. In the meantime, please enjoy this sunny calendula with bonus insect.

Beautiful! Southern New Mexico is looking great right now with all of the golden flowers. I took this on my drive home today, near Silver City.

Desert Marigolds and ocotillos on a hill; barrel cactus southwest of Tortugas Mountain; Slimlobe Globeberry growing across a prickly pear cactus; Blackfoot Daisies and Desert Marigolds.

Good morning! How are you holding up? What are you up to today? Our October has been weirdly dry -- not a drop yet this month -- but at least that means my Soluna Bronze sunflower is hanging in there! Still, I hope El Niño lets some rain through soon.

TENNESSEE VOTERS: Check your ballots carefully. Local news outlets are reporting complaints from early voters who say voting machines displayed candidates they did not intend to select.

Incentivizing Trump voters to call in their suspicions about about black and brown people? What's the worst that could happen?
