Kettle says the mayor has no plan to fight the things that crawl and creep. Why would she! Why would she fight her own, while they lie in ambush? Why would she oppose those that enforce her will? There are things more foul than spiders that in the darkness lie. What is that on your hand, Bob?

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson Criticized for Having No Plan to Combat Spider Season: tinyurl.com/5fn3ay2u

I gladly voted no on IL26-001 and IL26-638. But I'm pissed some rich right wing perv was actually able to force this bullshit onto my ballot.

Fun fact about Jēññīſêr Gōðſrëy: After I wrote a skeet making fun of her Seattle Times article, **she wrote to my work email address** with a copy of the skeet. I never said who my employer is on BSky.

An update from OPCD to the Seattle planning commission last week confirms that the pending Centers & Corridors zoning update is likely to remain on hold for a full year as the city conducts more analysis, in the wake of a state hearings board ruling. www.theurbanist.org/seattles-cen...

Dear The Seattle Times, I'm an engineer with a BS and MS degree in stormwater, a PE license, and have over 20 years of professional experience. If you have a musician to explain why development in Seattle hurts orcas, would you let me explain why she's full of shit? Love, MS

You don't get much more conservative than a business owner in Little Saigon. And these are the people right-wing influencers are chewing up and spitting out?

Erica C. Barnett@ericacbarnett.bsky.social

Racist far-right influencers like Brandi Kruse know they're lying. They don't care about the consequences their lies have on real people, because they're sociopaths. Human beings are just NPCs to them. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

Come on, Kirkland. You know what you must do. Give us the Kirkland Signature District.

Ryan Packer@typewriteralley.bsky.social

Next week the City of Kirkland is poised to advance a rebrand for the neighborhood around its forthcoming inline BRT station at I-405 and NE 85th St, as "the Rise District." Also in contention: the Forge District and the Union District.

Bob Kettle knowing about SPD expanding its surveillance activities outside legal bounds and doing nothing about it raises fresh questions about what Katie Wilson knew after the Bite of Seattle shooting.

Robert Cruickshank@robertcruickshank.com

Sure looks to me like Bob Kettle knew for a year and a half that SPD had massively expanded its surveillance capabilities without a public vote and…just sat on that knowledge without doing anything about it. A massive scandal. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

The Needling should offer a correction as this is actually the **second** light rail station to service Jackson Park Golf Course.

Say what you will about Pervert Glasses™, at least you know you're being recorded by Pervert Glasses™ when the pervert is looking right at you. Now the camera for Pervert Glasses™ is located on a charm that could be held and pointed in a much more subtle manner. This is actually worse.

Gonna have to do a running tally of parking decks designed and built before they start building Ballard Link.

The Sound Transit Board unanimously approved $10 million to advance the $100 million Renton parking garage to a shovel-ready design. It's on a Stride BRT stop. Background on the Renton parking garage debate here: www.theurbanist.org/sound-transi...

The only thing they fear more than a DSA government is a *competent* DSA government.

Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ@padresj.bsky.social

It's strange how Democratic Socialists - who are being denounced by both parties - turned major deficits into balanced budgets in both New York and Seattle.

Seattle Public Schools further added that the 15 minute lunch break they generously provide elementary school students should be sufficient for a small child to theoretically eat **some** of the pizza.

This historic paint job is a wonderful relic from the time Seattle hosted a few World Cup games. That's why we need to nominate these paintings for historic preservation. I'm also starting the 9th and Pine Preservation Alliance and demanding SDOT defer to us for any proposed work.

The Seattle Times@seattletimes.com

World Cup is long gone, but Ninth Avenue between Pike and Pine streets remains closed due to stubborn paint.

6PPD kills far more fish than the light rail over Lake Washington ever could. This problem with the bridge will be solved. Will we put in the same effort to reduce the damage due to 6PPD? Of course not.

The Seattle Times@seattletimes.com

Federally protected Chinook salmon were among the dead fish found this summer in Lake Washington under Sound Transit’s new light rail tracks.

Somewhere, in the Seattle metro area, there is a Taco Time with a bucket full of hot sauces in the dining area. You can take as many as you want. If you're pure enough of heart, one day you might find it.

I'm afraid the message that many CMs are going to take away from this fact is... A majority of people in favor of LWB Bike Weekends can't vote.

Jason@jrock08.bsky.social

Just spent a bit of time on LWB to do some informal demographics. By my count ~60% of the park users in the 4-5pm hour were under the age of 18.

Bellevue should eminent domain the site, pay the Freeman family pennies on the dollar, then turn it over to the descendents of the Japanese families Miller Freeman stole it from.

Ryan Packer@typewriteralley.bsky.social

Well that's a pretty major piece of Bellevue news to drop on a Friday night.

Every day I wonder why Claudia Balducci endorsed Bruce Harrell.

charlotte (she/her)@cvkap.bsky.social

using an AI (which is already steeped in ethics controversies) to read out scripts about ***ethics***, waste, fraud, abuse, etc, is deeply ironic. He also announced he's hired Natalie Walton-Anderson today. Safe to say my support for him ends here.

The time has come: Pedestrianize I-5

West Seattle Bike Blob@westseattlebikeblg.bsky.social

There is not a single pedestrianization project in the city that has created more opponents than supporters following implementation. Mayor Wilson needs to fast-track these projects so that we live with them for a few years and come to actually love + defend them, well before her next election.

The town of Carnation, originally named Tolt, was renamed after the Carnation Evaporated Milk Company of Kent WA moved their dairy operations there. They exerted so much control they renamed the goddamned town.

Jeremy Cole@jeremycole.bsky.social

I can guarantee that if I, a Seattle resident, set up shop in Carnation and drove there every day from Seattle and then tried to exert control over, well basically anything, they’d run me out of town tarred and feathered, and the tenure of my shop ownership would mean absolutely nothing to anyone.

If they crave the "aural stimulation" so much, why don't they start allowing cars **inside** Pike Place Market?

Qagggy!@qagggy.bsky.social

The moderator launches into a mini-lecture. Says restricting cars eliminates the “sense of theater, mystery and surprise…the visual and aural stimulation” that makes the market special.
