David Eby paid little attention to the base of the NDP…or other opinions…it was mostly a one-person show by someone who never developed a feel for politics…policies and decisions seemed to lurch from headline to headline #bcpoli

The abysmal 48% turnout in yesterday’s election is worrisome. It means that, despite the Conservatives’ large majority, only 23% of the electorate voted for them, and ofc, it’s even lower for the NDP…Is it time for proportional representation or compulsory voting? #bcpoli

The ascendancy of Lorne Doerkson from a little-known MLA from Williams Lake to Premier of Canada’s 3rd largest province with a huge majority in just over 5 weeks is basically unprecedented in Canadian political history…Leadership races are so over-rated #bcpoli

Lorne Doerkson is no John Horgan, but it’s interesting that both of them were/are politicians with very little ambition, other than fighting for their party’s principles…Eby was always ambitious…as was Christy Clark #bcpoli

When Milibar and Paton left the floundering KLF NC Conservatives, I predicted the right would unite and win a landslide victory in the next election…I just didn’t expect it so soon….People no longer wanted Eby and he let them vote him out 2 years early…typical #Bcpoli

Friend of mine just welcomed his first grandson, named Elijah…I immediately thought of Hank Williams’ Kaw-Liga, arguably the most pokiticallly-incorrect song ever written, included on this wonderful compilation album and on my #Vinyl Saturday…my bad, but welcome to the world, Elijah!

Continued highlights from Oct 21 at #VWF2026: Vivek Shraya and Kai Cheng Thom gave a moving tribute to Andrea Warner, who passed away last month. (Photo: Paola Tolentino) Ruth Ozeki enthralled a sold out crowd, in conversation with Margaret Gallagher. (Photo by Amber Charlotte)

Paul Simon is the latest icon of the 60’s to turn 85, earlier this month…yikes…my #Vinyl Saturday pays belated tribute with the final album by Simon and Garfunkel, and far away their most beautiful…the title song is a perfect antidote for our troubled times…it never fails to move me

Just 5 weeks ago, most British Columbians had likely never heard of Lorne Doerkson. Now, if the polls are right, he is on the verge of becoming the most unexpected premier in BC’s long, wacky political history. #bcpoli

Remove emotions and how you feel about this government. Journalist asks weather agency for weather data that is routinely collected and disseminated. 2 days later they are told, in so many words, that information will not be shared. We cannot have access to information about the weather last week

rodmickleburgh.bsky.social reposted

This is a publicly funded government agency refusing to share weather warnings and their own public warnings with a journalist at Global News, one of the larger mainstream news outlets in Canada. I really want you to sit with the bare facts of that.

A couple little slides I made this morning showing just HOW MUCH Vancouver voters came out to vote. Turnout was dramatically higher than in 2022: in 2026 there were 209,214 ballots cast compared to 171,494 in 2022. #vanpoli

People havent talked about the new world order since Hogan went babyface But also, good lord.

Nice work CBC News not pushing back on Mitch Sylvestre saying the “new world order” and “globalism” are a problem in Alberta.
