Councillor Imran Latif and I have been out surveying local residents in #Penylan again today. This afternoon we were in the area around Waterloo Gardens. It's good to find out about residents' concerns and where they'd like us to push for improvements.

Well done to everyone who ran the Cardiff Half today. Another great event a terrific atmosphere once again. Well done to all involved - whether organising it, taking part, cheering the runners on, or clearing up afterwards. Pleased to get a PB, shaving 59s off vs last year.

I am grateful to a resident who has alerted me to problems with a sewage leak at the southern end of Lake Road East, on the route of Sunday's Cardiff Half Marathon. I have escalated this to senior management in Cardiff Council and urged them to ensure it's sorted in time.

Hugely disappointed that St David's College in Penylan has been building temporary classrooms overlooking directly into gardens of properties in Clos Derwen without having obtained planning consent. This is an outrageous invasion of privacy. www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-n...

I have now been advised by @cardiffcouncil.bsky.social that the problem seems to have been caused by Civica who printed and dispatched the postal vote packs, rather than with the Royal Mail. This is a fiasco. And some voters will have lost their chance to vote as a result.

I have had worrying reports that many people in Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf may not have received the postal vote they requested due to postal delays. It is hugely concerning that some people may now be denied the chance to vote. #Senedd2026 herald.wales/national-new...

On Monday, I joined Cllr Imran Latif and reps from other political parties in #caerdyddffynnontaf to give my support to our faith leaders in Wales for shared values of religious freedom, social cohesion and co-existence, denouncing hatred, dehumanisation and division. [1/2]

I fully agree with the calls from our community leaders: we should reject hatred and instead unite through the ideals of compassion, love and service. I was proud to represent the Welsh Liberal Democrats and join the Conservatives, Greens, Labour and Plaid Cymru at this event. [2/2]

I recently had the chance to visit Farrouj on City Road with Jane Dodds to hear about the challenges facing small businesses in the hospitality sector in the current economic climate. [1 of 2]

The Welsh Liberal Democrats want to reform business rates in Wales to take the pressure off smaller, independent businesses. We're also proposing a £400 million fund to help struggling high street and shopping streets like City Road. #CaerdyddFfynnonTaf [2 of 2]

There is a pattern here. Both Chris Wormald and Olly Robbins appointed by this Government. Both sacked by press release when Starmer under pressure. Robbins may have approved Mandelson but it’s not credible that he acted alone w/o instruction from No10. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

The Welsh Liberal Democrats would not support a Reform government in Wales or a Reform First Minister being appointed.

Very sad to see the former Gaiety cinema on City Road now being demolished. Sadly Cardiff's Labour council had essentially left the building to rot since 2012 despite Lib Dem calls for the council to step in.

I’m pleased to have secured a cross-party commitment through my motion to Cardiff Council to support the need to rebuild the Heath Hospital. However, Labour councillors watered down my call. We need a clear, funded plan from the next Welsh Government. www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-n...

It's been great to have Lee Dillon, Liberal Democrat MP for Newbury, join our Senedd campaign in Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf this weekend. Listen to what he has to say. #cardifflibdems #welshlibdems

Frustration and ideas in equal measure at last night's Adamsdown and Splott community forum. Lots of support from residents and businesses for many of our ideas, especially in our Clifton Street campaign. Have you signed our petition yet? ▶️ www.cardiffld.org.uk/cliftonst @rodneyberman.bsky.social

Wishing all those observing Ramadan across Cardiff and Wales a peaceful and blessed month. May this sacred time bring reflection, compassion and strength to those celebrating, their families and their communities. Ramadan Mubarak. 🌙✨ #ramadan2026 #cardifflibdems

Today, I visited the 'Warm Space' at St Andrew's Church in Birchgrove. Initiatives like this provide a valuable opportunity for people to socialise - as well as to have somewhere warm to go if they are struggling with the cost of keeping the heating on at home in this cold weather.

I’ve had an amazing response to this petition against the threat to relocate Ysgol Bro Edern away from east Cardiff. Have you signed it yet? You can sign it here: www.cardiffld.org.uk/savebroedern

It was a great pleasure to join fellow politicians, Rabbi Rose and other members of Cardiff's Jewish community this evening for the Chanukah Menorah lighting at the Senedd. The recent sad events in Bondi were very much in our thoughts.

Had a really good discussion last night with some of my campaign team about our plans for the next stage of our campaign for May's Senedd election. It was great to review how things are going in Caerdydd Ffynnon Taf and start planning ahead into next year.

Nigel Farage publicly promoted cryptocurrency Tether, and then received a massive donation from one of its major investors. The whole thing stinks. That’s why @LisaSmartMP.bsky.social has written to the electoral commission calling for an urgent investigation. ⬇️

The Welsh Govt needs to take this seriously, starting by updating its obesity strategy to take account of the latest research on the impact of ultra-processed foods. We need to consider how these foods that we all consume are impacting our health. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

And for those whose claims we can't process within 3 months, we should allow them to work so they can contribute and support themselves. We also need to recognise that Brexit has been a significant cause of the huge rise in numbers crossing the channel in small boats. [2/2]

Hugely disappointed to see this mountain of waste being stored at the rear of 7 Clarendon Road in #penylan - I have reported this property many times before. I have asked the council to take action once again. #cardiff #libdems
