The federal deficit in July was $432 billion. That's the worst month of red ink in Donald Trump's second term in office. With 2 months to go in the fiscal year, the $1.799 trillion deficit is already higher than the full year 2025 deficit of $1.775 trillion.

1) Rule of law requires that when faced with this kind of lawless Presidential extortion, lawyers must stand up to it — because if you donʻt, the extortion will flourish and spread posing a significant risk to rule of law. 2/4

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

Jack Smith has quietly resigned. Nothing left to do after turning over the report to Garland. Revealed in the footnote of a DOJ filing on Friday. He worked hard, fast, and productively for his country, and the outcome was a terrible disservice to him and his team.
