That it'll fail because they lack sufficient consolidation and centralized control does not make it trivial that the president of the United States is trying to steal elections and produce an illegitimate sham Congress. It is open rebellion against the Constitution and morally tantamount to treason.

Ai bros hate artists because deep down they know they have no goals, no dreams, & nothing that they truly love. It’s a dark void that eats & gnaws at them so they lash out at those that have that spark. All they want is to drag you down with them to prove that it’s all hopeless

After seeing genAI game trailers appear even before Gamescom, I reached out to a few trailer editors to see how they feel about its use. Derek Lieu gave me this winner of a quote, among many others in the article.

We spoke with game trailer editors to learn how generative AI is impacting their field and how it fails to capture the quality they deliver.

the fact that a billionaire can randomly throw $100,000,000 into a campaign against taxing the rich seems like the best argument yet they can afford it

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12

Can't say it enough: Money talks. Speak with your wallet. Stop funding villainy.

Thinking how at the end of the Star Wars trilogy an entire galaxy celebrates the death of the emperor without a finger wagging coda where a sad-eyed long haired scold in bespoke clothing warns that this reduces everyone to the same level as the genocidal tyrant who got tossed into a laser shaft.

I hope everyone just had a great 3 day weekend after a short 4 day workweek. Amazingly the world didn’t end, the economy didn’t shutdown, there isn’t anarchy in the streets. Normalize a permanent 4 day workweek immediately.

OpenAI investors question the company’s $852 billion valuation as its strategy shifts, FT reports.

This should be a battle cry to support actual libraries. In fact, this should be incentive to keep the older Kindles, scavenge as many as possible, lock them in airplane mode, load them up with books and donate enough to libraries to loan out fully curated collections for borrowers to enjoy.

In an email to customers, Amazon announced that it would be ending service for Kindle devices older than the 2012 edition. Those devices will lose access to the Kindle Store. www.wired.com/story/amazon...

Worth noting that the first part of the first sentence does not at all lead logically to its end. The fact that "A.i." is becoming more widespread does NOT mean educators must learn to "integrate it as a tool." Educators could in fact REJECT IT ENTIRELY.

No matter how you feel about AI, its use is growing more widespread and it's important that educators understand how they could integrate it as a tool in their classrooms. Hear from three educators who have been experimenting with AI in this American Educator article ⬇️ aft.org/ae/spring202...

Does it work properly? No. Are the people making it acting in good faith? No. Have they ensured it can't be used maliciously? No. Does it make people's lives better? No. Will it make people's lives better? No. Is it profitable? No. Is it popular? No. Is it harmless? No. The argument for AI.

I'm glad I got to enjoy gaming in the era before you needed a $7,000 rig to redraw frames and generate slop frames to hit 62 fps in a AAA game.
