Ron Randall Grit City Comic Show! AA-83

I’ll be available for covers and interiors starting in November. Happy to consider other types of projects too; I’ve done storyboards, promo illustrations, movie posters, music video assets, pet portraits, game art and paintings. BenjaminDeweyArt.com

A HUGE comic book event. This art so deeply deserves to be preserved and celebrated in this format. Honored that some of my own pages from this historic run will be included in this collection!

This scream-y time of the year seems a good time to remember that we're "All Born Screaming". Good time to spin St. Vincent's excellent album as well. But then again, it's always a good time to listen to St. Vincent, isn't it?

RUNCH. Nice little Halloween-friendly page I drew for Swamp Thing #33. To this day, "RUNCH" remains one of my all time favorite sound effects for crushing Able's skull for the millionth time. Script (including said 'Runch") was by that Alan Moore guy.

100% in for Scary Harry today.

Finally diving into Season 4 and for my money, I'm delighted to be Lassoed again.

What’s the most important thing you’ve done today?

GRIT CITY 2026! NOV 7! Reminder that in less than 3 weeks we light up Tacoma WA with a white-hot intensity @gritcitycomicshow.bsky.social as only a pack of rabid comics fans can do! Table announcements for are out now, so I'll be loaded for Trekker action at soon-to-be legendary Table AA-83!

A little splash of sun on sand and waves to refresh your Monday.

GRIT CITY COMIC SHOW! Coming up on Nov 11, this one-day, determinedly comics-centric show in Tacoma, WA never fails to delight as a place to meet an engaged comics audience. I love smaller, more intimate shows like this. Hope to see you there next month! gritcitycomicshow.com

Hail hail, Rock'n'roll. Happy 100th to the greatest pure rock'n'roll songwriter evah.

"Get this cheese to Sick bay". Best line in all of Trek. That's just an objective, scientific fact.

I’m not saying Hawaiian sunsets aren't photogenic. Just saying that the Oregon coast can bring it, too, you know?

Not a better series on Kickstarter than Charlie's WHITE ASH! Great Early-bird specials about to run out, so jump in now, kids!

SPOTTED IN THE WILD! This ain't no merman or dolphin, just me swimming in the gentle waves offshore in Hawai'i last week. Great fun. Also great fun: being home again in my studio with my trusty turntable close at hand and Trekker on the drawing board. So, it's "back to work" for this cartoonist!

I just backed P. Craig Russell's Night Music Volume 1 on @kickstarter.com www.kickstarter.com/projects/way...

"CALL THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY. TELL HER, GIVE US A BREAK." We feel you Annie. We feel you. More spins today to celebrate yesterday's birthday of the brilliant Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent.

See? What did I tell you. I have a sense for these things.

Remembering the time when St. Vincent, with her two full albums under her belt, gave this unknown guy a shot by teaming up. Turns out, they were "kindred spirits" or something. Anyway, it was a nice gesture on Annie's part, yeah?

Oh boy! It's Anne Clark's birthday! I shall be treating myself to a set of saintly spins since St. Vincent is probably my favorite artist to emerge over the last 20 years or so. It's gonna be a grand day in the turntable here at Trekker HQ.

Pro tip: If you're a comic artist, it's only a matter of time until you're asked to draw Betty from Dave Stevens' classic and delightful Rocketeer series.

Uh oh. $#it’s about to get real.

This “fall weather at the coast” thing ain’t all it’s cracked up to be, y’know?

Weekend Concert! "In the late 60s and early 70s they weren't the hippest band in the world. Just the best." -- Bruce Springsteen

This one’s for @bibulb.com who reminded me yesterday that Ottawa’s Bruce Cockburn is a damn fine music-maker himself. So a pair of great “Elbows Up, O Canada” solidarity spins felt called for.

Happy Birthday, Leonard.

BRACE YOURSELF! Here are quick glimpses of the process steps to a Trekker page. For those interested on my approach to comics making, the individual images and my notes on each process step on every page are posted weekly on my Patreon page: www.patreon.com/c/trekker

SHOOT OUT THE LIGHTS Quick, name all the musicians you can who have been critically named both the finest songwriter since Dylan AND the finest electric guitar player since Hendrix. I'm guessing that list will be short. In fact, I'm guessing it will be limited to one: Richard Thompson.

Hey y’know what let’s put Swamp Thing up on etsy too. Available now. Free shipping yo addresses in the USA. helioscopepdx.etsy.com/listing/4578...

I might well ask myself why it's been so long since I've spun this album, but since there's no good answer to that question, I figure what's the point, you know?

Friday Night Concert. Nothing tops Sam driving the Harlem crowd into screams and shouts of pure ecstasy like he did this night back in '63.

My colleague and fellow former Kubert School grad, @stevelieberart.bsky.social reminds us that it’s Joe Kubert’s birthday. Apart from knowing Joe as a master storyteller, generous teacher, and great human in general, I had the rare privilege of helping out on some Rock pages. Priceless experiences.

I’ve been spinning a lot of “Elbows Up, O Canada” music in honor of our good neighbors to the north for reasons.

Breathe, friends. Don’t forget to breathe.

A mini delight. I picked up this first chapter in @mikerussell.bsky.social and @cattifer.bsky.social's THE GREAT TRAIN HAUNTING yarn, a flawless blend of Mike's crisp, clever writing and Cat's ridiculously cute and evocative art. Hit her Etsy to grab a copy: www.etsy.com/listing/4577...

Just fiddling around on this commission from the last Trekker campaign on this watercolor with Mercy and Molly in the roles of Holmes and Watson.

Awright-- break (ie, Rose City Comic Con) is over-- time to package up all of these backer bonus rewards from the TREKKER: THE TIES THAT BIND campaign and get ready for fulfillment. The glamorous road to making #MoreTrekkerMoreOften continues!

THANK YOU to the fans, friends, fellow creators and to the staff and crew that made Rose City Comic Con 2026 such a fun and successful weekend. I was thrilled to reconnect with so many wonderful people over these past three days, and can’t wait to do it again in 2027. See you then!

See Parker stat if you need to know about motion smoothing. Not even kidding here, friends.

Well now I wish I was goin’ to BCC this year dang it.

Just in case you were wondering, yes, trekkies love Trekker. And seriously, I’m almost outta books for this show so jet on over to get in on the… um…Trek.

BY REQUEST! Here’s a cheat sheet with Rose City Comic Con table locations for some of the comics people I drew on the cover of the deluxe Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen. I have printed slips at my table! Take your hardcover around Artists Alley and have them sign the bowties! #rccc

I feel like having a comic con. How about you? See you this weekend at Portland’s Rose City Comic Con, Artist Alley table C-06 @rosecitycc.bsky.social
