Just a reminder that I have some art up for auction ending this Sunday. Also: included with every piece, I include my insanely detailed prelim art. It's basically two for the price of one.

Christmas is coming. The geese are getting fat. Good time to put some coin in Chris Weston's hat. I've got some choice pieces of art on ebay at the moment (and me old Mum's drink trolley, embarrassingly). Run like a lunatic and snap them up! www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?i...

Digger is broad farce for a while, then gets strange, then meta. Then a scene with Jesse Plemons wildly revises the context, making it...interesting. Too much bellowing (seriously, I used earplugs). I wanted more funny discomfort from Digger Rockwell. But...it got interesting.

This by @jaysongreene.bsky.social really gets it. Smart piece. But I would bookmark this for later reading if you want to experience the film as I did, which was "this doesn't work" then "hmm...quite a bit more going on here." Major spoilers. Gift link. bsky.app/profile/catl...

If you do see the film, stay through the credits (which are unfortunately red and hard to read). Not because of something you'll see, but for something you'll hear. There's a reason it's not part of the film proper.

Concrete: Stars Over Sand #4 by @paulchadwick.bsky.social - A real corker! All three leads have their own arcs with in the issue (and the series) all weaving together, behaving like real people. This issue brings the story to a climax, with next issue dealing with the aftermath. Superb storytelling.

That intense, cruel Red Ryder movie he made quite shook me when I saw it as a young man -- incidentally, with my Art Center roommate Thomas Kinkade, who found it funny. You can figure out where his name came from pretty easily.

Notice good news when it comes

Concrete: Stars Over Sand #4 (Dark Horse). Heart was racing for the first half. Very curious how this - and the Concrete series? - will end next issue. I laughed out loud when Ron is looking over the books he wrote; one is just titled "Pushing Things." #comicsky @paulchadwick.bsky.social #concrete

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

It would be cool if Scott wore a huge radiograph pen sticking through his head like Steve Martin's early arrow prop when he gave his TED talks.

My writing partner and I tried for a long time. The executives were like "Magnus who...?" And then there was the Classic Media company problem. They claimed to own a lot of stuff that they didn't quite exactly reeeeally have title to... Dell properties among them. Turok skated out.

Thanks Chris: Manning it was. I wish I met him; Dave Stevens and Bill Stout did assistant work for him (both of the La Brea studio, along with me and Richard Hescox.) We referred to "death burritos," to which was attributed Manning's heart attack (without much evidence, it must be said).

I remember when I first learned about Magnus Robot Fighter, the dude that really fascinated me was 1-A, the robot that found baby Magnus and trained him to destroy other robots. Like wtf

First two issues out, modest but respectable, clean layouts and fun content. I appreciate their brisk prose; I have enough verbiage to read every day! I expect it to grow and grow. Very much the vibe of the 70s fanzines I grew up with, so this is catnip to me.

Get into a Lyft The driver is clearly listening to an AI audiobook Driver proceeds to explain it's an audiobook adaptation of a 20 year running manga Google it when I get back, it's entirely AI generated slop and isn't based on anything what

His imagery utterly dominated the innocent, early counterculture. More of a cultural standout than Thomas Kinkade, a high bar. Late life dementia put his wife, son and daughter at each others throats (wife killed herself), sad coda to a career spreading messages of peace, love and mystical fun.
