the entire bioware situation is just another episode of how now, more than ever, YOU are important to the small indie things you enjoy getting somewhere. talk about the things you love. buy it physical if you can. make art. share links. don't just go 'everything i love is dying', that's how it does.

I, a member of the public, do not wish to see my fellow members of the public who teach my children, heal me if I am sick, who administer the state and so on left worse off due to inflation each year.

TTRPGs needs a genuine and discerning critical apparatus. I can’t practice this sort of criticism of TTRPGs. I’m too embedded in the guts of it all to find perspective - I’m glad someone as discerning as @laurieoc.bsky.social and the writers here are leading that work, and I’m happy to support it!

A serious one today. "This is a call to our readers and future readers: please, consider before scrolling away, if you think our magazine is worth £18+postage. It is not just an investment in a bundle of paper, but in meaningful critique in the ttrpg space." playtestmaterial.org/playtest-mat...

This German comedy sketch (with English subtitles) perfectly captures so much of what is going on right now in the UK, the US, and across Europe. "Playing the 'Nazi Card' in the Third Reich", by Browser Ballett.

I’m not entirely sure how I ended up seeing this five times in the cinema, but for one reason or another I did. And I enjoyed it every time.

Our friend Darren has been hit by heartbreaking personal tragedy, losing his father, his partner of 31 years, and his pet over a matter of days. Green Ronin is honored to have contributed to this fundraiser bundle for his benefit. Please help us spread the word! www.drivethrurpg.com/product/5807...

Never liked Tom Holland - I dislike his willingness to represent himself as a trained historian when he’s nothing of the sort, and doesn’t seem interested in actual scholarship. But this is a new low…

Please watch this to the end.

My long dreamed of epic about the Ptolemaic Dynasty - incest, war, murder, libraries, religious syncretism, persecution, incredible nicknames… it’s got everything you could possibly want!

Will Sheff’s latest, Extra Mile, is so good. Takes what made Okkervil River so good, but weds it to a gentler, if no less sardonic, perspective. Last track Ancient Tourist builds to a delirious finale which manages to make the fact we just endlessly repeat patterns of the past sound almost noble.

I wrote this a long time ago now, but it’s nice to see it out in the wild. My contribution to the ‘weird London fantasy’ tradition of Machen to Mieville.

Necromancer is an urban fantasy campaign setting in a supernatural London where the hidden world of sorcery—the Demi-Monde—lies just beneath the mundane city. You play necromancers: ordinary people who discovered they can bring things back from the dead. angusabranson.com/2026/07/17/r...

John Blanche’s influence is vast, the touch of his genius visible everywhere you look in modern geek culture. As someone who spent a lot of time in rooms with the same nicotine-stained palate he made such use of, he helped make those places alive, fantastical. Battlegrounds on grandad’s wallpaper.

It’s an interesting choice for Edgar Wright’s Running Man (2025) to cast Glenn Powell as the rugged working class hero - given he looks like white American privilege in a tightly fitted flesh suit.

I am struggling to understand why Breathless isn’t already funded. It’s a very good game, very well made, and incredibly easy to get to the table. So if you haven’t backed it, you should. Be smart like me, and back it.

RP@rpdeshaies.farirpgs.com

Alright so, we need to think about the possibility that Breathless may fail to fund. I'd hate this. But it's possible. This was super hard to record and I hope it helps other creators in the space. If you like it, please share the video around because we're living in difficult times.
