He mistakes mob rule for what it really is, the people’s voice. Govt if for the ppl, and they should hear us speak. He can just go walk into the sea.

He's right that contracts need to be awarded to whoever is best placed to do a job most effectively. I don't like Palantir but letting pressure groups, media campaigns and polling dictate decisions isn't smart. Ministers have to do what they think is best for the country, not whoever shouts loudest.

But Palantir receives direct awards without procurement. And experts/governments are supposed to be transparent, not just go with the buddies of their mate Tom Watson. Please dont get so easily distracted from the material reality by the slightest, most superficial argument.

If our government stands for anything then it should stand for morality in its dealings. And financing Peter Thiel and his fellow right-wing nutjobs should not be part of that.

Illustrative of the contempt these tech monsters have for the people whose data they steal and exploit. These megalomaniac neo-fascist creeps cannot be allowed anywhere near government contracts.

Well at least its an opportunity to learn something and be a little more skeptical of "sensible moderates" in the future. Dubious many are going to take the opportunity though.

Former Labour deputy leader and now Palantir's Tom Watson says the tech firm would work with a Reform UK government on immigration crackdowns? Cool, cool. Nothing to see here.

Radicalised? Bought, and way back before he stood down as an MP. Few seem to be able to put two and two together though. Mandelsons ally in the Labour leadership of 2015-19, surely a good guy the entire time right? This is why we cant make things better.

What a disgusting little man. I used to have quite a bit of respect for him but it turns out he’s just a filthy money-grubbing shitbag who happily sold his soul to a deeply unpleasant company.

Watson works for Plantir now? I guess that at least clearly answers any lingering questions there might still have been regarding his character.

Youd hope Guardian readers might put two and two together here about how reliable Tom Watson was 2015-19, and whether he was ever sincere. But the Guardian isnt goijg to spell it out. They blacklisted one of their journalists for writing a mildly critical column about a guy laughing at all of you.

'Mob Rule' says Tom Watson, yet another greedy & bought political. For Watson's information, the 'mob rule' to which he refers, is people exercising their democratic right of expression. If he doesn't believe in this & just wants to enrich himself, he should resign from the House of Lords now.

If the mob are excluded from dictating govt. contracts, then the Tufton St. cabal of advisors & influencers, all funded by corporate vested interests, should be ousted also. They've been in the driving seat of Worstminster action now for 47 years, with elected MP's reduced to puppets on strings.

Eh, they'll never go after Tom but perhaps some of the gullible might finally learn that hes always been full of shit. Sadly the comments show people still determined that Tom was somehow a different, trustworthy person in the past, rather than they were his useful idiots.

"Watson told the podcast he would work with a Reform UK government on immigration crackdowns if the situation arose, saying: “We don’t actually work in that sector, but yes, of course we would.”" A reprehensible dickhead

I will defend him to this day for pointing out the obvious to Jeremy Corbyn. He was in an unenviable situation and did the right thing.

Yes, youre determined not to learn a fucking thing. Everyone has pointed out the obvious to you about Tom Watson to you for years, and you're incapable of seeing it even now. Were in an unenviable situation because people like you will never do the right thing, too in love with superficiality.

No mate he was always a tosser Just because on the odd occasion you may agree with him doesn't mean he wasn't self serving tosser too I agree with Farage and Polanksi about the odd thing...both are grifting tossers

Yet another example of mercenaries that entered the political sphere for 1 reason only - themselves. Like Blair, Hunt, Mandelson, Johnson, Jenrick, 30p Lee, Farage, Starmer, Nandy, Cooper, & many, many others. For Tories & Reform it Is a ' given'. For Labour, Unions & CLPs, why don't they stop it?

Which mob is he thinking of? Cos us plebs thinking we should have a say in who runs our public services is democracy. Whereas the AI mafia telling us they’re the only supplier we’re allowed to buy from, isn’t.
