The @solidjs.com team is making an amazing job with Solid Start 2. Dependencies have dropped from 479 in v1 to 137 in the last v2 alpha version. And apparently a Rust version of vite-plugin-solid is coming up which would drop all the 50 or so Babel deps.

@whitep4nth3r.com Hi, my wife has recently injured her hand. I remembered you had switched to using your voice/accessibility settings more for work. Do you have any recommendations? I was trying to search your website but didn’t find owt. She is not a dev, has a MacBook M1 and its a temporary injury

You can tell a person’s generation by the way they dry their hands. Previous generations rub their hands under the dryer. Gen Alpha have their hands stationary under the dryer and says, “dry me”.

Quote from 1983, guess who: This mastery of technology may blind us to the more fundamental needs of people. Electronics cannot create comradeship; computers cannot generate compassion; satellites cannot transmit tolerance.

OpenAI just confirmed the Mixpanel data breach. 🚩 Basically: OpenAI used Mixpanel for frontend analytics, and Mixpanel got hacked. Luckily, no chat history or API keys were stolen (phew). But your Email, Name, IP, and Browser info might be leaked. Sharing my thoughts about "Zero Trust" 👇

Can’t believe I’m waking up to the Aussie’s needing 205 to win and I have hope that England can bowl them out. #Ashes2025 #cricket

Dearly lacking discourse in local-first... the prerequisites for "data ownership" is it must be freely addressable (e.g. via the file system) and one must be able to adversarially do things with it (e.g. open/ubiquitous formats).

Matthew Phillips@fancypenguin.party

Having data in indexeddb is no more "owned" than having it in an http cache. Both are on your hard drive. Both are obscure formats you can't and won't do anything with. Data ownership requires using open formats. Almost no one doing local-first is even trying to do that.

@dbushell.com Thanks for your blog posts on deno. It’s been helpful to know want issues there are. I’m still really considering switching because of the sandbox environment and the explicit permissions.

Again for those at the back. There are lots of people (including me) that are finding it very hard to get work. This is in part to the places that used to pay artists now wanking off to AI. It aint cool or funny. It's damaging to the planet & to the welfare of real people. #fuckai #AIShite

An astonishing stat: Across the three knockout matches, England have led for a total of four minutes. FOUR MINUTES! (Out of 360 minutes) and still lifted the trophy 😱. #euros2025 #womensFootbal #England

Well done South Africa for winning the #WorldTestChampionship. It’s been great seeing your skill and determination batting and bowling. Thanks for beating the Aussies #cricket

Alright, we're actually doing this open working thing. We're going to work on projects, for real clients who are set up to make people's lives tangibly better. We can only do that if it works financially though because we've got mortgages etc. Your support will make this happen.

Piccalilli@piccalil.li

We’re trying a rather radical new approach at Piccalilli by doing real world projects — for real clients — in the open. This gives us a context to provide genuine high quality, real world education for free at the point of entry.

@dbushell.com Just read your latest blog post and noticed your link to Non-hominids and "AI" enthusiasts can follow this link for an alternate version of this page. I’d love to read about what you’re doing to obfuscate your content as it’s a brilliant idea 🥳.

Sorry wrong link cpu.fm

Rustie@rusticola.co.uk

Ah, that makes more sense. I didn’t understand that from the article you linked to. I’d misunderstood as it seemed more like a reduction/reorganisation/reorientation process but still keeping the podcasts under the CPU.com brand.
