I'd love to pick something good but I haven't been able to get this terrible line of dialogue out of my mind since I first read it in *1989*

Art doesn't have to be perfect but this just happens to be perfect.

Happy to report that mine was a genuine banger. However I'm pretty sure the first album I bought was that Red Box one.

First single you bought with your own money. No lying! Mine: "Red Box - Lean on Me (Ah-Li-Ayo)", 1985. Still know every word.

This Sky Arts David Bowie documentary has really done its research: "Bowie's acting career was always an eclectic collection, from family fare such as Labyrinth and MERRY CHRISTMAS MR LAWRENCE to Nicolas Roeg's The Man Who Fell to Earth" (emphasis added)

Reminder that these two guys are still alive and could finish Big Numbers any time they wanted to.

Fans of Queens on LinkedIn: I believe if the answer was instantly revealed to me I couldn't physically fill out the grid any faster than this. How are people doing it in 13 seconds?

- "Kippers for breakfast, Aunt Helga? Is it St Swithin's Day already?" - "Pleasure doing business with you, chummmmmmmmmmmP" - "Way to breathe, no-breath" - "I am familiar with the works of Pablo Neruda" - "I hope the irony's not lost on you, Simpson" (Three of these are from the same episode)

There are letters circulating today which are unhinged for various reasons but which also reflect a broader pernicious trend of capitalising random Nouns to emphasise their Importance.

Saad's view (as expressed in the second screenshot) is that it is childishly naive to think that cultural conflicts can be resolved other than by one side eliminating or expelling the other.

Tonight BBC radio 4 ran an hour-long advert for “suicidal empathy” (the idea and book) on the Moral Maze, describing its author simply as a Canadian professor, without mentioning his enthusiasm for Great Replacement ideology nor calls for civil war in the UK. That does not seem ok.

Is there an online forum or support group I can join for people driven to madness by advertising creative choices? I shouldn't care about that fada on "So" but I do.

I'm not a big "signed by the author" person but if I were in London I would get down to @goshcomics.bsky.social for this bunch of legends.

TOMORROW! The signing of the summer is here! Our @2000ad.bsky.social Mega Signing with Brian Bolland, Dave Gibbons and Mick McMahon kicks off at 2pm! We can hardly wait. Gerry Finley-Day is no longer able to attend the signing. We apologise for any inconvenience and for any fans excited to meet him.

Embarrassingly there is a Taschen book "On NFTs", still openly on sale in the gift shop of at least one respected art museum (in this case the Louisiana in Denmark).

I only do Wordle when people are mad about it online. Wordle 1,852 4/6* 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨🟨🟨 🟩🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

I note the headline and framing which implies she's a minority voice along the lines of a climate change sceptic when in fact she's pretty much aligned with the expert consensus on these issues.

The best TV shows of the past 10 years were Twin Peaks The Return and Andor but I know practically nobody in real life who has watched them. Thus I am driven into the arms of The Podcasters.

Of course Trump would be a "somewhat of a" rather than "something of a" guy.

Q: "People suspect that there's insider trading happening on these prediction markets around the war. Are you concerned?" Trump: "The whole world, unfortunately, has become somewhat of a casino."
