Even if you've already filled out the survey in previous years, we still need to hear from you! Our survey team needs as many responses as possible to build a better picture of what comic workers are actually getting paid so we can push for more! The survey closes on the 31st, don't wait, y'all!

Romance

Did someone say QUEER HORROR? The two words that can summon me in a Beetlejuice/Bloody Mary/Candyman fashion? Thoughts on "Four Seasons of Horror" #Kickstarter from @stackeddeckpress.bsky.social ⬇️ lifelinecomics.substack.com/i/217335265/... Campaign: www.kickstarter.com/projects/sta...

GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN, by me, @ryehickman.bsky.social, and @longtalljodie.com. You can buy it here: bookshop.org/a/125145/978...

This is an interesting and valuable post, but I vehemently disagree with the notion of having/hiring multiple artists working on a single GN. Part of the reason that comic books had such a reputation as disposable, churned-out filler entertainment in contrast with generally-esteemed strips... 1/

Me working on pitch2: it’s a romance! Definitely! No, they don’t end up together. I’ve rewatched Mandy 3x in the last week, and am planning on revisiting Hannibal s1 next. Also this hold came at a weird time. Might as well read it. Probably won’t be that useful tho!

Me and @planetx.bsky.social have a story in this! It’s creepy, it’s gay, you don’t want to miss it! www.kickstarter.com/projects/sta...

Me and @ryehickman.bsky.social get all sorts of gay and creepy with this one! You're gonna want it! www.kickstarter.com/projects/sta...

I don’t understand ppl who use AI bc when you don’t, you can go over to yr friend’s house for advice about chosen-one tropes, help move stuff from a shed to a barn, then eat cheese and drink wine while watching funny horse vids, then you go home w a head whole of brilliant story gems!

The High Holidays can lay a liar low, even if intentions are good. @planetx.bsky.social and @ryehickman.bsky.social expose the price of secrets in "Who by Hunger"! Four Seasons of Fear: A Year of Queer Horror coming soon to @kickstarter.com September 29th! Sign up for updates! (Link in comments.)

Swipe right for lineart only. Color is a very important part of my art in comics and I worked closely with @kjdiaz.bsky.social to make it as best as it could be for each and every page of AMOM. Get your copy now of issue #2, now in stores! @dstlry.bsky.social

Kinda comic how laser-focused this mostly is

While biking home a tiny child waved at me from their own tiny bicycle. I waved back. Heartwarming, precious, etc. Then I remembered I was wearing my ‘GOD IS A GAY PORN STAR’ shirt and had a good cackle. Hope the parents caught it

I loooove doing the ‘character appears multiple times in a panel’ thing so much

GALAXY: THE PRETTIEST STAR & GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN are sci-fi graphic novels about how being trans is beautiful, queer love is life-saving, & how to live when an empire wants you dead. I made them with @deuxdel.bsky.social, @airy.bsky.social, @ryehickman.bsky.social & @longtalljodie.com

Watched Repo the Genetic Opera for the first time last night ama

You are going to love PRINCESS NIGHTMARE, the book I'm working on with @ryehickman.bsky.social.

This weekend is BCAF! I’ll be on panels about book bans and horror comics, and giving a workshop on tools and techniques. If you’re around Boise come say hi!

Discord Comics makes damn fine books and are pretty amazing to work with. Bring them your best!

NEW ADVICE-FROM-LIEBER LIST! I've posted these tips as a thread before, but I figured it's about time I made it available as a single, shareable image.
