We were really pleased to get to lead this session at #SSHM2026 this afternoon! Our audience was very engaged and we had some very insightful conversations! Big thanks to Rosie Cresswell and @sshmedicine.bsky.social for all of the support we have received over the past few years and today!
Attendees at #SSHM2026 might also be interested in our #CFP for an event at @britishlibrary.bsky.social in November! You have until the end of the month to submit your ideas to us! #DisHist
CFP alert: We are thrilled to announce the Call for Presenters for a hybrid event in collaboration with @britishlibrary.bsky.social! This will be taking place on 27th November 2026, with presentations happening both in-person and online.

In addition to this, excited to be running a workshop on disability and employment as the Disability in Museums research group with Code Beschler, @karlantmercer.bsky.social, @sambrady.bsky.social, Emma Cieslik, and Wade Berger. #AccessinMuseums2026#DisabilityHistory#Museums
Excited to be back in Leeds, and in the lovely Broderick Hall at Leeds City Museum, for the Access In Museums conference! This afternoon myself, @sambrady.bsky.social and @disabledarchaeo.bsky.social will be presenting on @ukdishisthub.bsky.social and who we are/what we do.
I’m so excited to finally say I’ll soon be joining Manchester Jewish Museum as their Curator (not that I’ve been keeping it secret well!)!! This is a dream role, sparked after using the museum’s collection for research years ago. I hope to serve Manchester’s rich and diverse Jewish history well!
I’ll continue to operate in the disability history/heritage space through the UK Disability History and Heritage Hub and other related academic/heritage groups so do look out for cool things (hopefully) in the pipeline… 👀
And I very much hope to stay in touch with my Paralympic and Sport networks - if anyone knows any Jewish Mancunian Paralympians I can force into the museum’s displays hit me up 😂

Of course, I am gutted to be leaving the @paraheritage.bsky.social, who not only saw me through my PhD but fully supported my development in the sector, all whilst truly fighting for better inclusion and representation. I will miss this dynamic and passionate team!!
We teamed up with Mitsubishi Corporation London Branch, Paralympians and consultants, to co-create sensory descriptions for items in the Japan Gallery of our Global Virtual Museum, helping blind and partially sighted visitors to experience each object. 💫

had a great time at the Divergent Minds in the Archive Workshop today at Liverpool Central Library. Some really productive conversations about barriers for neurodiversity in using or working with archives - and conversations with really lovely people as well!

Taken from my LinkedIn - I'm looking for opportunities to present my work to interdisciplinary, academic and non-academic audiences. I haven't seen my CFPs recently (probably due to my algorithm) and wondered whether anyone knew of any opportunities in the coming months. Please share! Thanks!

A huge thank you to the award committee and all those involved in the project - especially my colleagues at the NPHT. This was my first public exhibition, and it would not have been possible without the entire team’s support and hard work.
I was sad to not be able to attend the SHS conference to receive the award in person, but thank everyone at the conference who has since passed on kind words!
