My current thinking is that The Social Wire's web interface and mobile interface aren't going to be the same apps In messing with bringing social to iOS's client, I think leaving Quill and The Social Wire as separate apps might be the way to go for the platform/device format

If you're using the iOS beta we're currently working on rolling back the social addition and are going to explore other ways of bringing this functionality to iOS more cleanly, expect new builds this evening

All of this really goes to show that different platforms aren't simple to support The Social Wire looks very different on the web than it does on iOS and very different from how it will look on Android

Most of the time, when you're expecting a dev to add support for a new platform, you're asking for an entirely new app It's not as simple as clicking an "add Android" button And this doesn't even touch on the fact that the backend is actually like 12 separate applications as well

I might take another stab at it after I've played around with it a bit, but I'm not 100% sure As I refine the mobile experience for the web app, that'll probably give me some more ideas for the native app

I don’t know how to explain to people anymore that services cost money

You can't just ignore the impact economics, business, and politics has on technology *Especially* if you're dealing with actual products and not research It's never worked like that And if you ever thought it did, then you were simply ignorant at the time

People act like it’s some big fuck you if someone doesn’t have multi platform support on day one Like, you’re complaining about a small group of people not building two apps at once

Okay #medsky I've got a great idea: What if, instead of having all of your notes, images, orders, etc. all neatly filed away in different tabs we just give you the Media tab in the chart Then we can add a "Show Me" button that uses AI to figure out exactly what it is you were looking for

This 1000x over until the day I die

if only apple would treat a PWA like a first class citizen instead of hiding it behind complicated menus and limiting functionality.

Trying to bring all of the features from The Social Wire’s web client to the iOS client is tough There’s so much going on in the web version that it might actually make sense to leave them as different apps on mobile Like, confining the entirety of Quill to a single tab isn’t easy

Hi Walgreens, I’m not ordering amoxicillin but, like your app suggested when I was ordering my actual meds, I *do* think you should add bubblegum flavor to it

Wait so was nobody going to say anything about Instagram recently adding an TV app? It joins Twitter (not 𝕏) as one of the more mainstream social media apps with a tvOS app For some reason

Any politician who’s willing to throw away one group’s rights is willing to throw away everyone’s rights. It’s that simple. Every single consultant, pundit and candidate who’s shown a willingness to abandon trans rights needs to be shunned from the party forever

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

I’ve never quite understood where people got this idea that Apple acts like they invent things when they announce a product More often then not they explain why they’re doing things differently than what exists Especially with iPhone Duo, they talk about other phones all the time
