Finally caught up with Buddy last night and her performance in it definitely reminded me why I've loved her since I was a teenager watching the final season of HIMYM as it was airing in 2013/2014

THIS WEEK: Nicolas Cage as a vampire (?), a slasher-esque short, a revisit of an Oscar-winning 90s classic, and the Rifftrax boys tackling a 70s Halloween special with Jeff Goldblum's dad in Independence Day as Dracula

To this day, I still think it's funny how even before I could read or write, I was being introduced to Rick Moranis from the sheer number of times I saw this trailer before my many viewings of the OG Toy Story but still haven't watched the movie proper decades later www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wvo...

For those of us of the VCR generation, what's a movie you saw the trailer for a lot at the beginning of a VHS tape, but never got around to watching the movie itself? I probably couldn't count the number of times I saw The Journey of Natty Gann promoted on Disney tapes.

Got hired at Family Dollar in college, worked a full shift and then let me go when I came in for my next one cause they only needed specific people to help set up the new store near my house (which included me)

This post is unavailable.

This week: A sadly mediocre vampire movie plus a few Spooky Season specials featuring the Looney Tunes (or are adjacent to them like with the Spielberg WB shows) in varying degrees of quality

I was five when Jimmy Neutron premiered as a series and nine when it stopped airing new episodes, so I was *the* exact right age to have it be a childhood fave Nicktoon

Pop Arena@poparena.bsky.social

I don't not NOT like it, but Jimmy Neutron showed up just as I was aging out of Nickelodeon, and while I definitely respect it, it was one of the first Nick shows that was for the kids after me. bsky.app/profile/mini...

After forgetting last week, we pick back up with a truly bug nuts historical drama more people need to know, a pretty solid 90s family movie, Silly Symphonies ending on a fairly sweet note, and a great Porky/Sylvester pairing

The next show up on Nick Knacks has been one of my most anticipated for years, so I'm fine with waiting just a bit longer

Pop Arena@poparena.bsky.social

Hey, thanks for sticking around. I know the output hasn't been as strong lately, I know everyone's waiting on the big videos, and I want you to know I'm very grateful for your patience.

As I get older, I find the hate this poor girl received to be so baffling honestly (at least she's still around occasionally releasing new singles and tending to have at least a new movie per year since 2021)

Sitcom People@sitcompeople.bsky.social

This week: an underrated early 2000s TV movie, a modern day preschool movie that's way better than I'd expect it to be, a pretty great Donald Duck short and one of the Larriva 11

This week: An "Oops All Rewatches" edition with one of the worst movies from my birth year, a zillennial classic I hadn't seen in full since roughly 2007, my favorite Goofy short, and Bob Clampett delivering one of numerous bangers in his last year at WB

IMAX has announced the original Star Wars will be released in IMAX 70MM for the first time next year, alongside Star Wars: Starfighter. And yes, seems to be the ORIGINAL version of Star Wars. Like, the actual, original version. From 1977.

Not shocked that my favorite movie of all time has 14 logs currently (plus all of the times I watched it before I joined LB in the last few months of 2016)

SpongeBob is so old that a person could watch both Blue's Clues and Rugrats before the show's regular Saturday morning timeslot

Possum A-ko@kaiserbeamz.bsky.social

To grasp how old SpongeBob is, when it began airing on Nickelodeon: - Every Nicktoon that came before still got regular reruns - Looney Tunes still played on the channel - Gullah Gullah Island and Little Bear were still part of Nick Jr. - The flagship program for Nick at Nite was The Brady Bunch

This week: the best Melville I've watched so far, a 90s animaton masterpiece I finally came around on, a great Chuck Jones-directed Bugs Bunny short and my favorite post-Walt thing starring Mickey Mouse

Considering how long I've been anticipating this one, hell yeah I'm down for a two hour at minimum Rugrats video

Pop Arena@poparena.bsky.social

I don't have an estimate length yet, but there's a solid chance the Rugrats video will the longest one I've done, and could even possibly be the longest one I'll ever do. We'll see, I guess.

As a grown ass adult who watched this one for the first time earlier in the year, it honestly does hit the sweet spot as a 2000s kid who grew up (and still lives) in a beach town
