The End of Oak Street was exactly the silly-scary summer fun I was hoping for. 🏡🦖 Finding Emily was cute, but I apparently have trouble processing a Manchester accent?? (At home, I would've turned on the subtitles for a couple of scenes.) #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

- Mix of 75% Coens & 25% Verhoeven, flawlessly executed - English Roman slavers run away with this anti-slavery movie - Ullmann's performance might be the best acting I've ever seen, Bergman not far behind - Basically Sightseers in Minnesota with guns #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Here are my #LastFourWatched Was inspired to see THE INFORMERS while watching the new Ryan Murphy series "The Shards." See the documentary SAVING MES AYNAK on Hoopla. It's an important story you've never heard of, about important archeological finds in Afghanistan.

Been curious how Easy Rider was and man, I really liked it a lot. Also finding myself liking early Wes Anderson a lot more than later films. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

~ Stanwyck brings the heat! Cooper brings... the geek? ~ not as bad... ~ not as good... ~ drops the ball ☆ also, If it was called JURASSIC PARK ST. it would be at $150 mil by now. Fun ride. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

My #LastFourWatched includes a heartfelt story about being the new kid in town, a somber doc that doesn't sensationalize, a crappy but moderately fun sequel, and a crappy and not moderately fun sci-fi mess.

No films this week but I did watch all of Dark Matter on ATV+ and REALLY enjoyed it. Really interesting story, great actors, and it’s a VERY Chicago series. Total spotlight on Roscoe Village and Logan Square. Always enjoy that.

These were the movies that I've watched over this week, but I definitely loved rewatching Drive My Car (2021), given that movie really did resonate with me in a lot of ways that I felt something, as it's about learning to confront your own grief through your sense of communication.

I Lost My Body is also a very beautiful and touching movie that's about the rough circumstances that come with trying to go through our own existential crisis when we start to question many things in our lives, as we get to cope with our traumas from the past, while also moving past them.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched Three Arrow Video releases and one Kino Lorber that I'm getting through. Still have about 24 physical discs I want to get through. I should stop buying new discs...

My #LastFourWatched were an #AnthonyPerkins marathon. psycho III is amazing. Just after another try of a string of 4 horrid movies i hated and tried to salvage for a second viewing. still bad. That #PromNight remake is the worst. #LetterboxdFriday #FilmSky #horrorsky #psycho

After watching Amer, I was obsessed with the track "Pandora, Pt. 2" by Stelvio Cipriani (from 'La polizia ha le mani legati', aka 'Killer Cop'). Really interesting use of repurposed music in that film.

Three Sergeants of Bengal 1964 Mickey's Delayed Date 1947 Ninja Operation 2: Way of Challenge 1988 The Land of Women 2024

FAST AND FURIOUS: Super cheesy but the 25th anniversary screening was a blast BIUTIFUL: Wanted to love this but didn't quite land THE INVITE: Super cringe (complimentary) and surprisingly insightful SPIDER-MAN 3: I hate myself for rewatching this #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched boxd.it/6x3Ud

I am very much in the minority in my feelings w/r/t those 2 films. I gave them both 2.5/5 on recent rewatches while LB has them at a much higher 3.9 average. Dafoe, Molina, and JK Simmons are great, and there are some cool shots throughout, but everything else is painfully cringeworthy IMO.

Oh look, Tobey Maguire is running after the bus because his son forgot his lunch and he's bringing it to him, oh no wait Tobey is a high schooler... The last time I watched them I told myself I'd never go back and rewatch them. But with Brand New Day, I kind of wanted to go back.

Also, not yet logged cause I haven't written my review, but I caught Train to Busan for the re-release (my first ever viewing) and really loved it! One of the best works of zombie fiction I've ever seen and it hit right in the feels (repeatedly). Highly recommend seeing if you missed it.

I've decided I'm going to stop rating shorts bc I think they're screwing up my overall statistics, but I'm not going to stop logging them. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Manchester by the Sea definitely does an excellent job of how it's able to depict depression and PTSD in a lot of ways that actually feel so realistic and meaningful, since Lee later realizes that his own guilt ultimately serves as his self-punishment for the things that he's gone through.

The new Soylent Green 4K was exquisite, was transfixed by Elvis in concert and then just some favorites for some light background viewing. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

Well I did it, I got a brand new four! Nobody said they had to be 'great' films though, right? #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

This was an enjoyable week cause I saw sheeps, toys, a neighborhood transported to the prehistoric era, and a couple in a lofi dystopia have deeply human connections. #LetterboxdFriday #lastfourwatched
