people need to pay far less attention to what bernie sanders says about ai and far more to what aoc says about ai. sometimes you do just need to step back from the apps and the screens.

AOC: "As AI begins to encroach in our society, their goal is to take your cognition away from you. AI's goal is to take your thoughts away from you, your ability to think away from you, so that you become dependent on a machine ... reading books is active resistance"

Blood clots are extremely scary and the Eagles should one thouuuuuuusand percent be investigated for how they've handled Jalen Hurts' health and of course the NFL didn't care to investigate because this is the NFL working as intended.

It doesn't matter if your athletes are famous, talented, and well-paid; the NFL and the WWE especially have such a bad track record on this. Bodies are their products. Sports are great as long as you're not killing your players.

Also dang, I'm not an expert on injury-related DVT, and I know it's not but it seems... wild for an extremely active person under 30??? Although I know it's not unheard of.

This is exactly the principle that has fucked up everything from deli flyers to UX in billion-dollar products Once upon a time, even if you were doing something on your own, it took long enough to do that it made you think about what you were doing! You had time to think "hang on, this sucks."

I think the thing about AI and small business owners is that previously the design would have to be run past either a second person who know some amount of design, or they'd learn photoshop and some amount of design with it now they can ask the AI to do their bad design and the AI never says no

hell half the time even without loyalty if you call the front desk and say "can i please have one more hour" they are fine with it

I largely stopped staying at Airbnbs. Even a modicum of loyalty at any hotel brand gets you a later checkout and you don’t get nickeled and dimed on shit like this

"To me, all of this was consistent with my lifelong commitment to women’s and girls’ rights and opportunities, with a particular emphasis on those who’re vulnerable or disadvantaged in various ways" <<< EXCEPT ONE NOTABLE ONE I GUESS

My ‘I don’t want trans people dead’ T-shirt is raising a lot of questions already answered by my shirt

Where the fuck are these private, security-guarded dressing rooms? Anti-trans shitlords have made up so many weird scenarios but they need to make up... more?

wow, JKR & HBO must be scared shitless about the backlash to the new HP series. I can't wait to cancel my HBO subscription on December 1st – you should too!

I would note, grimly and unhappily, that this sort of thing is part of the reason why people who aren't Jewish don't really take antisemitism seriously as a concept anymore. The credit is gone. The card is increasingly being declined. The check is bouncing.

Conflating Jews with Israel is antisemitism but also it’s antisemitism to NOT conflate Jews with Israel

What would happen if you had sex with a Wicker dick like the one in ‘Wicker’? We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Alexander Skarsgård’s appendage with a gynecologist.

It is absolutely wild to me that there are voters that haven't been fully cognizant of a pre-Donald Trump political landscape, back when he was a self-styled cartoon rich person with a dumb TV show and accidentally yelling weird could tank a campaign.

Juuuust learned that Scholastic has its own dedicated free streaming service now AND IT HAS: - Goosebumps (1995-1998) - Animorphs (1998-2000) - The Baby-Sitters Club (1990) - Garfield and Friends (1988-1994) - A treasure trove of 1980s Garfield standalone specials www.scholastic.com/site/Scholas...

Also a bunch of shit that is after my time but is nonetheless 20+ years old so likely nostalgic to many of you. I SPY (2002-2003) looks truly unhinged.

Antisemitism is structurally necessary for Musk's politics, because the right-wing populism he supports needs to frame itself as fighting for "the people" against "the elites," but as the world's wealthiest person, he needs a definition of "elite" not rooted in actual wealth or corporate ownership.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

a grandmotherly woman just got booted from the Trump rally for protesting, and she went out like a hero talking trash and flipping the double bird

I also think it's absolutely hilarious to think that training our kids to use today's worst technology specifically instead of training them to be adaptable to whatever comes next is somehow the forward-thinking approach
