Kudos to Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust on becoming the latest organisation to officially adopt the #SASsix in their approach to their workforce. Supporting your doctors to achieve their potential benefits the services they work in, and the patients they look after. Bravo!

Happy #SASweek26, folks, for all the SAS doctors and allies out there who are celebrating it! As with every #SASweek, we would like to start with a reminder that a SAS colleague is for life, not just for SAS week.

We are always absolutely delighted when another trust decides to adopt the #SASsix in their approach to their workforce. Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust joins multiple other Trusts in wanting to support their doctors to be all they can be. We salute you!

Fantastic to see an MP talking to SAS doctors about the issues we face. Our #SASsix campaign aims to lift the recognition of our bit of the workforce, support doctors to progress their careers, and achieve our potential as leaders and educators. Find out more here: www.sascollective.com/sassix

Great to speak at the London SAS Conference with Specialty, Associate Specialist and Specialist doctors from across London. SAS doctors are the backbone of the NHS, delivering expert care every day, often without the recognition they deserve. Thank you for all you do.

Happy International Women's Day 2026 to all the inspirational SAS women out there. This year's official UN #IWD2026 theme is #RightsJusticeAction. Women all over the world have fewer opportunities to achieve their potential in healthcare, and worse health outcomes. We must do better.

The @fmlm-uk.bsky.social are the most recent organisation to publicly support the #SASsix campaign, because our aims align with theirs. Leadership matters a great deal. The SAS Collective remains very grateful for that support, and for inviting us to take part in today's event.

Slide in the wild. Playing "count the paths" at our session for the @fmlm-uk.bsky.social conference in Liverpool. There is more than one. Thanks to all the folks who joined us! Leadership needs to be open to SAS doctors, if we want everyone's experience to matter in developing services. #SASsix

It is always a great day when we get to add another Trust to our slide. Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust have added implementation of the #SASsix to their medical EDI policy, which launched today. Bravo!

We are absolutely delighted that Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management @fmlm-uk.bsky.social have decided to support our #SASsix campaign! Thanks, folks. We really appreciate this!

FMLM is proud to support the #SASsix campaign, championing leadership equity for SAS doctors across the NHS. SAS doctors are essential, and their leadership potential must be recognised. We’re committed to empowering them to lead, manage and thrive.

In recent months many new organisations have decided to support or endorse the #SASsix campaign. Most recent was @bashhuk.bsky.social, who did so yesterday. Like us, these organisations believe that supporting every doctor to achieve their potential is right for the workforce. Could you be next?

We are delighted that @bashhuk.bsky.social have decided to support our #SASsix campaign! A lot of sexual health care is delivered by SAS doctors. Signposting a career for these doctors to achieve their potential is a vital part of supporting this workforce. We look forward to working with you!

BASHH is proud to endorse the @sascollective.com's campaign, championing career progression, equity of opportunity, and support for SAS doctors around the UK through six essential 'asks'. To view our statement of support, visit our website: bit.ly/3NFc773

The @rcphysicians.bsky.social have been important allies to the #SASsix campaign. We agree entirely with President Mumtaz Patel in her rapid response to this weeks @bmj.com article. Bravo!

ow.lyRapid response to BMJ investigation: Thousands of NHS doctors are trapped in insecure “gig economy” contracts

I spoke to doctors across England for this @bmj.com investigation. Senior medics leading services and training others but stuck on insecure contracts. Others with no supervision, training or progression - just filling rota gaps. Many egs of poor practice from NHS trusts. www.bmj.com/content/391/...

Bearded clown alert. Page 182 of today's BMJ. There are successful, progressive careers to be had for doctors outside of rotational training. However, we have to decide as a profession to make it normal for all, and the NHS has to stop behaving like a 'gig economy' employer. #SASsix

7/ Today's service must not come at the cost of tomorrow's. We believe this is the single biggest workforce issue of the day. The #SASsix campaign is based around appropriate contract use, support for professional development, and the opportunity for senior doctors to become leaders and educators.

2/ The new General Medical Council workforce report once again illustrates that the most rapidly rising cohort in the medical workforce are locally-employed doctors. This year is also looks at their contract duration, and finds that the majority in this group are on short-term contracts.

A new #BMJInvestigation finds that thousands of locally employed doctors are trapped in insecure NHS contracts with no access to training, career progression, or national safeguards. Experts warn that the NHS is effectively “behaving like a gig economy employer” www.bmj.com/content/391/...

We were pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to this article. We think doctors trapped in long-term local contracts are "hidden SAS". They deserve the national contract for the work done. We hope our campaign helps to make this normal. #SASsix www.bmj.com/content/391/...

Our #HospitalDoctorsUnion team joined the SAS Conference Midlands yesterday! Big thanks to Dr Lily Read of @sascollective.com for the invite. Important talks on the challenges facing #SASdoctors and the need for meaningful change. We're proud to support the #SASsix campaign. #SASDoctors #NHS

We love it when organisations decide to support our campaign. We can't do anything without the support of our allies. You are vital. Thanks to FFLM for your support. You are brilliant! #SASsix

Following last week’s FFLM Board meeting, we are delighted to announce that the FFLM has formally endorsed the @sascollective.com and the principles of the #SASsix: tinyurl.com/4e36pkkj
