I met with Finer, Sullivan, and a bunch of Biden's senior people several times throughout 2023-2024 and I cannot stress enough how maddening it is to watch them reposition now after spending the time they were actually in power gaslighting the shit out of everyone

I do think when historians look back the period the exact moment where it flipped and started going the other way won’t be anything any politician did but my Minneapolis neighbors weathering the worst of the regime in the streets, rallying together, fighting back, and winning

Put a monument for the people of Minneapolis for this on the National Mall when all is said and done.

32% of eligible US voters chose Trump in 2024, yet it was presented in the American media as an amazing landslide. Lula's reelection was significantly bigger, but it will be presented as eking out a win.

The summer I turned 20 I climbed out of the circled window here and into the window to its left, mostly to try to impress some women. My point here is it’s amazing there are any adult men alive on earth.

Kalshi is a vile pernicious company making the world worse in every way, so I was happy to cost them a tiny amount of money by taking a free cappuccino from a Kalshi branded food truck in lower Manhattan.

Absolutely stunning that in the NYT’s latest major story on Elon Musk single-handedly trying to save the GOP there is NOT ONE WORD about how he is the world’s most vocal white supremacist and advocate of ethnic cleansing.

presswatchers.orgThe world’s most vocal racist will be the Republican Party’s biggest donor again. But don’t mention it. | Press WatchOur top news organizations are covering up Elon Musk’s white supremacist propaganda

My guess is that if the longest-serving Democratic Speaker of the House had been a convicted child molester, Republicans might mention it from time to time. By contrast the Democrats have always been committed to a discreet silence about Dennis Hastert:

America is not much of a democracy but we still all bear responsibility for the Minab school massacre. The fact we allowed sociopaths to do this kind of thing, and with no consequences, demonstrates that there's something deeply wrong with us. www.dropsitenews.com/p/minab-scho...

dropsitenews.comMassacre at Minab: The School That Became a GraveThe bombing of an Iranian school, killing 120 children, is one of the worst U.S. war crimes since Vietnam. Drop Site spoke to survivors, first responders, parents, and witnesses. This is their story.

The review of Naza by Gal Beckerman in the Atlantic reminds me of a previous article by him, from which I learned that I and all my friends who lived in lower Manhattan in 2001 did not exist

Matthew Ygelsias knows very well that Medicare for All would cost less than our current healthcare system, and so there's no reason to worry about how to "pay" for it. But sometimes he just pretends to be stupid. bsky.app/profile/matt...

If you could pay for Medicare For All with DoorDash settlements or deferring pension contributions then I guess this would be true.

25 years ago today, Barbara Lee cast the House’s love vote against the Afghanistan AUMF, to this day perhaps the most courageous act I have ever seen an elected official perform.

There's been some progress in the past 25 years on the right — here we see this guy acknowledging that al Qaeda attacked the US on 9/11 over our foreign policy, rather than pretending they "hate us for our freedom" or whatever

25 years ago at this time I was sitting on the stoop of my building on W. 11th St. with my neighbors, talking and drinking disgusting wine coolers. If you’d told me the US was about to kill four million people, I would have thought: Yes, that sounds about right.
