Love this book!

Mulholland Drive at 25! Twenty-five years ago today, Mulholland Drive was released in the US. To learn about how and why David Lynch altered the original TV pilot into a feature film, check out my book: Devious Dreams: www.amazon.com/Devious-Drea...

The first half of my year was essentially defined by these two things — one an actual dream for me, one an actual nightmare — and I’ll always be grateful to Josh for giving me the space to reflect candidly on both

For my second column I reached out to @scottmeslow.bsky.social to talk about his work writing a history of Twin Peaks and organizing with his community in Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge, and the way the two things converge thematically for him aftermath.site/the-work-twi...

36 years ago tonight, Twin Peaks premiered. I'm currently reading @scottmeslow.bsky.social 's new book about the history of the show. It's so enjoyable AND I'm hearing stories/details I've never heard before, which is quite a feat (at this point) for a show so beloved and documented. Recommended!

Felt like old times, in the best possible way, getting to talk Twin Peaks again with my (onetime) GQ colleague and (forever) friend Josh Rivera

My second installment of The Work is now live: a conversation with @scottmeslow.bsky.social , about his book on Twin Peaks, living in Minneapolis under ICE occupation, and how we get back up when evil lays us out aftermath.site/the-work-twi...

10. True to its name, @scottmeslow.bsky.social's book delivers the goods. By splitting the difference between oral history, critical analysis, and literature review, he has constructed an authoritative companion for hardcore and casual fans alike.

A Goodreads reviewer says, "Mark Turetsky’s narration is perfectly eerie and grounded, like if Agent Cooper and an NPR host had a love child raised in the Black Lodge," which is frankly one of my favorite things I've ever heard about my work.

Best and most accurate story I’ve read in a while on the state of things in Minneapolis

Incredible, on-the-ground reporting from @gabydvj.bsky.social. It's easy to embrace the triumphalist "Minnesotans fought back" narrative, but the reality is that the Trump administration has done long-term damage

finally read @scottmeslow.bsky.social’s A PLACE BOTH WONDERFUL AND STRANGE and my guy really did the thing. Scott brings balance to a production history that’s become almost mythic, where the secret isn’t any kind of auteurism but a rare openness to possibility, making magic from the mundane
