Ooh ooh. I think I know the answer: because you're a very dumb, fragile little man who lies constantly and (these days) spouts white nationalist talking points? Also, lol lmao

I know this isn’t exactly y’all’s beat, but it’s pretty shocking and removes all doubt about how vile some number of bad cops can get. Sorta, we already knew it, but had no real proof. This is real proof.

Explicit torture.

This Omni ICE flight is now making its first removal stop, to Cambodia. Migrants passengers onboard have been shackled at the wrists and ankles attached to a waist chain for at least 26 hours.

@kissphoria.bsky.social In case you ever want to dunk on Greg Abbott. He was AG when he early released disgraced former Rockwall County DA Gaylan Ray Sumrow after only 16 months I think, of a ~16 year sentence imposed by a Dallas County Jury. The jurors were pissed www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

nbcnews.comOklahoma governor accused of ‘political favoritism’ in DUI caseGov. Kevin Stitt said that while he did call the Corrections Department about Sara Polston’s case, the 73 days she served after she nearly killed a woman was “too short.”

AGs have that authority. But in this case, I suspect Rick Perry signed off, too. Sumrow was always the local favorite for special prosecutions. But dirtier than a toilet seat, and swore his pants needed a third leg because his junk was so big. Very favoritism is the takeaway.

He’s right about clouds. Sound is basically the same as radio waves, and clouds help radio transmissions travel farther. And I know the Apple weather app only said 5mph winds out of south, which wouldn’t help it much. Fascinating. Too bad nobody measured anything.

Paragon was the coolest dance club in Dallas’ history. Now that I think about it, my boss was best friends with the GM of the amphitheater then. Anyway, 30’ ceilings, literal former boiler room for the building, 23 different levels, and huge columns everywhere. And across the street from Starck.

…DOJ manual language, and Blanche’s words yesterday, should be reviewable. Even ones twenty years old. They’ve been cheating on this threat statute for years. SCOTUS told them to stop in Elonis, but they haven’t. That should be a big deal.

I should have kept watching. Yes, Counterman too. That makes two slaps on the wrist by SCOTUS in the last decade about subjective vs. objective, and the DOJ just outright ignores it. This is beyond a Trump problem. And needs attention. Especially now. Thanks counselors.

I’m really not guilty, I took a plea based on the DOJ and my attorney telling me it’s an objective standard, when I knew it wasn’t (I’m a career phone company nerd), and have since spent ~$125k on a poly sci masters to change the world, and fix that conviction. I am obsessed with 875(c), and lies.

One more hot take, and sorry for the blast. Blanche (in his wormy way) tried to infer other defendants have pled guilty to 875(c) under similar circumstances. This is a little weedsy, but his intent was very clear. And if he lied to GJ, every conviction for 875(c) by DOJ pursuant to…

This is a perverted lie in that he’s trying to convince the press that they recognize intent necessary, when the manual disagrees. To me, this says they lied to the GJ about objective vs. subjective. That’s the only way I can see a GJ indicting. Weekend event has nexus here They had to have lied..

….to grand jury. And lastly, even lay, even though I’m erroneously convicted of 875(c) (20 years ago), I swear I’ll spit if a practitioner tells me the DOJ manual vs. Elonis is not a clear enough contradiction to (for real) assume criminal intent from the AUSA, assuming he hid that at GJ.

First, I believe the DOJ cued this up and waited until something like the weekend event. Notice Blanches lingo. “Especially now…” this says the DOJ does not truly believe Comey was/is a true threat. They gamed the timing. Second, Blanche lied yesterday about intent. His own manual says otherwise.

@radleybalko.bsky.social In case you’re still interested in criminal justice anomalies, and egregious injustices that resonate with most people; Karen Read. There’s a former Mass. State Trooper (Michael Proctor) who could instantly become the most racist LE in our history. He has ~40k texts…

That will soon be made public. Several texts have, but there’s ~40k more, and one slipped in trial the other day by a third party attorney who said “It’s let’s go kill a n_gg_r day in Canton.” ~40k more to come. And some will be unauthorized pictures of nude women he shared with group friends.

I’m hitting you up because I know it used to be your beat. Corrupt local law enforcement framing innocent people. But it looks like the big text dump won’t get national coverage. It’s that bad. Promise. I can help point you to it if you’re interested.

Sorry about the roller coaster. Now I’m going to buy the book. Someone should write one about this nexus and possible fallout. Castle, compound, racists… what’s the difference?

This is a good example why “Hollywood” is one of our most important institutions. These stories need to last forever.

An Uzbek man, tortured by his govt, spent two years in ICE detention waiting on asylum claim. Separated from, lost track of wife and daughter. Claim denied, he attempted suicide, then disappeared. Deported to Uzbekistan. From @mariannedhe.bsky.social newsletter.mariannedhenin.com/asylum-seeke...

@meganabbott.bsky.social Since you’re on record as having the best interview with the bros Coen ever, I oddly feel compelled to share this new possible revelation. The Brando part might have been known, but I didn’t know it until this. Please forgive me if it’s irrelevant. Cults can be this way!

“Justin Fox” (DOGE bro) used ChatGPT to determine whether ~1.5k already approved grant applicants should be cancelled, and this was his prompt. Again, this was the bureaucrat who lapped it up because he’s pro MAGA. I watched Fox’s deposition, he confirmed the use of ChatGPT.

Another tell from back then was when Comey described his meeting in the White House with Trump, and assuming he was telling the truth, he said the only thing of substance Trump seemed to care about, was the dossier details and Melania believing it.

A treat finding an author I had to read in grad school in the wild. Especially when he established a cognizable line for me between populism vs. not populism on a very nuanced point.

Cas Mudde@casmudde.bsky.social

I decided to start a #thread 🧵 of stories about legal residents and tourists being (illegally) arrested, detained and/or deported by the Trump regime. I'll only post stories from serious sources, as rumors and conspiracies are really not needed in this authoritarian moment.
