The vile attacks on Amy Acton need to be seen in the context of a party that *needs* people to believe women fabricating sexual assaults is common as rainwater. Because it’s pretty much the only way to evade the conclusion that the president is a rapist.

It's really damning. The accusations are numerous and well-supported. But I was really struck by the descriptions of Trump's behavior -- the name dropping, strong-arming, and attempts to buy off silence. His gross rivalry with Epstein. It's all so familiar. It's shit he's been doing his entire life.

32% of eligible US voters chose Trump in 2024, yet it was presented in the American media as an amazing landslide. Lula's reelection was significantly bigger, but it will be presented as eking out a win.

Like many others I assumed this was funny hyperbole -- "call in the national guard!" type of thing -- but no it's a description of events.

They called the cops on this 3-year-old Black boy because he was kickin the white kids' ass on the soccer field.

These racist, festering lesions don’t get to dictate what it means to be an American.

This piece does a great job making the point that, our bankrupt jurisprudence around police use if force not withstanding, the cops should not be allowed to create the circumstances that create danger, and then kill people because of they very danger they created.

One more thing: the report on the incident from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is bad. And it's just 10 pages long. It's also sloppy -- it gets basic dates wrong. But it's also deceptive. It suggests, for example, that Foster . . .

. . . at the vehicle wasn't part of that leak. That came out Thursday night. And it's damning. The officer -- Hunter Foster -- clearly fired from beside, and then behind, the vehicle. The fatal shot was fired through the passenger side window. Contrary to claims from some outlets . . .

. . . the vehicle did not strike any of the officers. And contrary to claims from Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, the video does not show someone trying to "run over" officers. It shows someone trying to flee. (The parallels to DHS lies after ICE and CBP shootings are hard to miss, here.)

Some body cam footage was leaked to a police-friendly outlet early last week. Even that footage showed needlessly reckless tactics that forced a confrontatio -- running at a vehicle with guns drawn, putting themselves in front of the car, etc. But curiously, footage from the officer who fired . . .
