When I was in middle & high school, it was still weird to be into anime & manga. Now, there's a Goku float in the Macy's Day Parade, and a whole crowd of people belted out Otonoke when Creepy Nuts performed at Coachella. It's still a bit surreal at times, but it's been so cool to see

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Leaked audio: Michigan Republican Mike Rogers asking for officers at polling stations to intimidate voters "We called the RNC early and said hey... Let's put police officers, retired or off-duty police officers as our poll watchers in Detroit because go ahead, try to intimidate them. Please."

Probably an R34 Skyline GT-R, a Janus Gryffin 450, and a bunch of MCM furniture. And plane tickets to Japan, Scotland, Ireland, and Italy

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

Call Chuck Schumer and tell him to defend Ilhan Omar publicly or resign. (202) 224-6542

I've got a woman in my mentions insisting Chuck Schumer doesn't need to speak out about the president's efforts to strip a Democratic congresswoman of her citizenship because "some people in the House already said something." Oh, word? Then no need for the actual leaders to lead here. My bad.

That's... illegal.

Mike Rogers’ wife is handing out $10 gas cards in Michigan while asking people to vote for her husband. Republicans made gas unaffordable. Now they’re offering $10 to keep them in power. #BlueWaveIn20Days

Make stuff. For the love of all that there is, please just keep making stuff! Doesn't matter if it's bad, good etc. Just *keep* making stuff.

We have *six days* left until the Academy of Natural Sciences, North America's oldest Natural History museum, is scheduled to close it's doors. Here are *six reasons* why we cannot - and will not- let that happen.

Apologies to discuss things from the dead bird site, but Boichi-sensei has been writing a really interesting series of tweets on making manga as a foreigner in Japan and while I've learned a lot from them all, recently he wrote: "And someone who loves money rather than people should never create."

We mourn the loss of Mike McFarland at 56. From Buggy the Clown, Master Roshi and Jean Kirstein, his voice and work behind the scenes shaped countless anime memories. Thank you for everything, Mike. Rest in peace.

I really hate the “I don’t owe anyone anything” mentality because we actually owe each other and this planet a lot. You don’t have to be selfless all the time or burn yourself out but you should be kind and helpful and compassionate to the best of your ability. We need to care about each other more

We've seen what the OSA has done in the UK We've seen Texans locked out of BlueSky if they dont hand over their personal info Call your senators and tell them to vote no against KOSA and the KIDS Act Its not for the kids. Its for censorship and mass surveillance

‼️ KOSA update: ICYMI Earlier this month, a bill package that incl this bill passed out of the House in a rushed vote. www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-ne... This is alarming BUT it isn't the end of the road. Here's what we know:

This will get worse if KOSA and the KIDS Act pass. Go yell at your reps

Bluesky Safety@safety.bsky.app

Texas passed an age assurance law that requires Bluesky to verify the age of users. This law was paused by a judge and then unpaused by an appeals court, so we are preparing to comply. If you saw an age assurance notice today, that's why. Read about the law here: ccianet.org/news/2026/05...

With this ruling, the birthright issue is not going away. The right hasn't really begun *organizing* around getting rid of the citizenship clause. Like Roe, this will be their fight for a generation. And if the Democrats just say "we won" and ignore it, like Roe, the Republicans will eventually win.

I keep seeing people thinking this is a bluesky problem. If you're seeing this it thinks you're in a state or country with age verification laws. This is what every social media site will do if KOSA and the KIDS Act succeeds. Running to another socmed won't fix it, we have to fight the source.

Well i dont know how long this login session is gonna last but @bsky.app just asked me to do an age verification with personal information. If this happens again i will not attempt to log back in. If i dont post here again let bsky know that i prefer my privacy over this platform.

So, fun fact: Influencers are not required to adhere to the same ethical standards as journalists. This is something that's been discussed on many levels over the past 15 years, in all manner of publications, from the American Press Institute, to the Harvard Business Review.

Happy World Oceans Day! When our federal government repeatedly steps on rakes around ocean policy, it can be easy to get discouraged. But there's still so much we can do in the meantime! (P.S. this is part of an upcoming collab with Philly artist Sam Heimer)

If you: - put your personal comfort above the dignity of people different from you. - give more empathy to a hypothetical stranger than someone sharing a lived experience. - or use your marginalization to dismiss & disregard the struggles of others. Then you're pathetic, & part of the problem.

our human rights should not change based on which state we're standing in, or this is not a country. we have never truly gotten there but we were getting close, and now we're backsliding so fast. authoritarian enclaves can't exist at the state levels that threaten democracy locally, either!

Stephen Wolf@stephenwolf.bsky.social

And it should go without saying, but we need to guarantee truly equal, universal suffrage and a whole host of other rights in our constitution. We also can’t continue to let authoritarian enclaves exist at the state and local levels that then threaten democracy nationally
