Two weeks in a row for features in @pelliclemag.com. I had a lovely day trip to photograph this story by Anthony Bennett.

"Great Yarmouth, like many British seaside towns, is all too often associated with poverty...however, this is a place that’s home to friendly, welcoming people, with a gentle—if sardonic—sense of humour. A session in the Red Herring re-enforces this impression." www.pelliclemag.com/home/2026/10...

A vineyard in Enfield, who knew? Not me! Have a look at the new @pelliclemag.com feature on Forty Hall Farm to find out more. Photos by me.

Brilliant, and surprising, to see some local grass growing back so quickly after such horrible drought conditions. My wee dug loves it.

Some photos from a day out in Edinburgh in July. Some of the pubs in Leith are class, aren’t they? I also paid a swift visit to the Scottish pub of the year out in Musselburgh.

Adrian at Woodshedding Brewery brought his interpretation of the high/low stout pour to The Wenlock Arms last night.

TOES CROSSED!

Sad to read that The Bon Accord pub in Glasgow has now closed. Its relocation from Charing Cross to Hope Street might help get some new punters in, but you can't replace years of memories with a new location.

Yesterday I had some of the first pints of Augustiner Helles to be served on draught in the UK. Available now at The Kings Arms. Not to be missed.

Here's my latest work for @pelliclemag.com. I ticked @rogerprotz.bsky.social off the collab bucket list with this feature on the lovely Jenkinson family and their Chiltern Brewery. Their hospitality and dedication to provenance–beer from the brewery, food from the pub–deserves this recognition.

This is next week! It’s been a long few weeks of preparation, would be great to see some of you there.

My first ever exhibition will be hosted by my pals at The Kings Arms pub from this month. A Beer’s Place showcases my commercial and personal photography exploring beer, from where it’s made to where it’s drunk.

Keystone Brewing is a failed experiment in seeing if consumers were still willing to spend money on failed local-led brands who fell into the hands of faceless private equity companies. It's even more absurd that someone else is willing to waste yet more millions testing that again.

BREAKING: Keystone Brewing has been sold to Saltaire Brewery owner Paramount Retail Group for £4.5m. Via @thegrocer.bsky.social. www.thegrocer.co.uk/news/keyston...

I’ll be there on Thursday 29th January from 6pm. Come along and say hi, have a beer or two and see some photos. I’ll have prints available to buy too (please DM ahead if you’re interested).

This is the last week to get prints delivered in time for Christmas. And what a great gift they'd make! I've just sent a lovely new A3 print on its way to France. This one is from my green hop feature, but others are available too. DM if you're interested and I can get it sorted with priority.

The Fat Cat was always one of those pubs that was on "the list", but I never expected to visit. I'm so glad I got the chance to finally tick it off with this visit for @pelliclemag.com. This is my fourth feature with @fred-gs.bsky.social and it's a personal one. Please read and enjoy.

Pellicle@pelliclemag.com

For the last in our November-long series of pieces on pubs and pub culture, @fred-gs.bsky.social visits The Fat Cat in Norwich, a pub that's close to his heart for many reasons. We hope you enjoy this beautiful salutation of an all-time great. www.pelliclemag.com/home/2025/11...

Beautiful, vivid piece of work from Sean on the 2025 hop harvest. It’s made me very thirsty indeed

This is a lovely deep-dive on the English hop harvest and a handful of green hop (aka fresh hop) beers made with them. The surprise twist is that one of the beers uses Bullion, a very old variety I thought was extinct. I guess not!

This is my first ever solo story that I’ve written and photographed and I’d love it if you took the time to browse it. I’ve custom designed and built the page to be engaging and easy to follow. If you do enjoy it, please pass it along to someone you might think will enjoy it too.

Fingers crossed! I photographed this amazing story from Fred. After our visit I became a certified Rye Guy.

Really honoured to have been shortlisted for this year’s @britbeerwriters.bsky.social Best Communication about Beer and Travel award for my @pelliclemag.com long read on the pubs of Rye & the rich history that shaped them 🍻 You can read it here! www.pelliclemag.com/home/2025/3/...

The summer sun has left us and that means no more street pints until next year. It’s too cold now, and the change happened far too quickly for my liking.

Congratulations to Thornbridge and Garrett for winning "New Beer of the Year" award for Strong Dark Mild at Brewer's Congress this week.
