so honored to have published this, and so excited to see @premeemohamed.com recognized for her great work. grab a print/ebook copy here: psychopomp.com/product/one-...

maybe it's super uncool to SAY you want to win, what do I know about being cool? but I know it's not uncool to say @thedeadlands.com has SO MANY hard-working, talented people helping bring it to your eyes each quarter and I'd love to see it happen for THEM. so pls consider if you still can 💀

extremely excited to be reading longer fiction for the deadlands. and I will say, most vaguely, that we have some very cool things and stuff coming along from, into, and throughout the deadlands. everything moves so slowly and so swiftly at the same time all the time...

HELLO AUTHORS. The Deadlands will open to short story submissions (up to 5,000 words) for the entire month of October. but wait there's MORE For the first time everrr we are opening to NOVELETTE SUBMISSIONS (1/3)

recently finished "there is no antimemetics division" and I loved it SO MUCH i need some sci-fi reccs that are equally as fucking cool please share!

Anyway! This seems like a good time to re-up my book that came out in February -- ONE MESSAGE REMAINS is a mini-collection with a brand-new novella and two new novelettes, plus one reprint, set in the same world! bookshop.org/p/books/one-...

this is sure to be a lot of fun plus go support Fran!

my impressions of London after being here for 24 hours: everything smells like bacon... unrelatedly, we are staying in a little apartment just above a brunch restaurant.

some personal news... Beth and I have moved to Europe, as of 7am (local time) this morning. we'll be living in Spain for the next few years... your regularly scheduled Psychopomp stuff should be largely uninterrupted, as there's an amazing team in place. hello from London!

looks so good!!

hey quick Q are there currently any well known genre zines that use a logo/icon of a LANTERN? trying to crowdsource some knowledge here, please tell me either way (yes/no) so I can get a sense. thx!

brains b like: oh, i have an event to go to in 4 hours, I can't POSSIBLY get anything done until it's over, better sit here and fret only...

i hope you buy a copy of OMR because it's SUCH A GOOD COLLECTION OF STORIES i also hope you buy it from non Amazon because they have been shitty to us (and you know... shitty in general) i'm working on getting this book @ Kobo and Bookshop's new ebook thing thanks 4 the support everyone but AMZ

single-handedly raising the search volume of the word Psychopomp (vermont is where I [and psychopomp] are based) lol 💪💪💪

can I build the media company I want to build and sell books @ Psychopomp only and not ever have to deal with Amazon? do I need permission for this or, like... is everyone that loves us just on board with this? can I just do this??? i think I can just decide to do this...

you can just do things...

wanna subscribe to support this free, weird story-letter? I got you babe; it's super easy:

Also reminder we are coming up on my Toronto launch party for ONE MESSAGE REMAINS with @psychopomp.bsky.social ! 🤩 Free but pls RSVP so they know numbers! We can nerd out about empires and resistance, as one does

hey look it's me talking about publishing ...in this current issue of Clarkesworld (a magazine I used to do some work at, which is just one of the many things you'll read about in this interview) if you're into/curious about Psychopomp and the TWO magazines I publish, you might enjoy this :)

it's so cool to watch someone experience for the first time a work of art you deeply love. even MORE COOL when they articulate in one shot what makes it so good/powerful/unique in a way you never thought about before. i love this channel and this vid was 10/10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qjD...

i want to wake up in the morning to an inbox full of pitches 🙏🏻 pubishing blog content @ Psychopomp was my favorite, i'm so happy i can do it again NOW WITH FANTASY CONTENT

i have such a hard time typing "psychopomp" -- which is unfortunate because I have to type it about 87,000 times per day. i think it's because I'm left-handed, and that last "hopomp" -- esp the "pomp" is particularly tough, as the last few fingers on my stupider hand are particularly stupid. 🤷

me: WHY WON'T THIS HOUSE WARM UP cats: (fully bread-loafing the the heater vents): IDK...

phew. this launch was so much work i need 37 pizzas and a birthday cake so excited to add this amazing magazine to the list of cool things I get to publish :)

publishing b like: hey, distributor, how we doing on pre-orders, i want to make sure we have enough books printed and in place! distributor: Amazon is kinda vague about it, & Ingram doesnt give out preorder numbers, sorry. ok cool. I'll consult The Orb, I guess...

we've run out of degrees here in vermont absolutely no degrees left...

damnit i love seeing stories we published end up on lists of favorite stories so satisfying, and I love it for @dimafic.bsky.social, @aimeeogdenwrites.com, @foxesandroses.bsky.social, and @premeemohamed.com -- the four deadlands/psychopomop authors mentioned + @ecatherine.com editor for all.

have I accomplished my goals for this year? no. but did I eat well and exercise often? not in the least. but did I mature relationally and as a person? listen,

back at the vet with Orange Cat admitting him through Monday for terrible pancreatitis poor guy. I’ll be functional again eventually but prolly not today…

sorry for the slowness on things related to @thedeadlands.com, @psychopomp.bsky.social patron stuff, fundraiser stuff, etc. my cat very rudely tried to die several times since the 23rd by stubbornly not eating FOOD, A THING HE LOVES 5 vet visits later and things are slighlty looking up... 🤞
