My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

🎶 we got a snow drift, Danny’s gift and plasma from the bloody lifts axed doors, maze tours and creepy twins you can’t ignore, red rum, scared mum, barman chum and you must say when he’s typing all the day it’s all work and never play play, play, play, play, play, play, play, play. 🎶

ALA is heartbroken at the passing of country music legend and literacy champion Dolly Parton. Her Imagination Library initiative, inspired by her father's inability to read or write, has put millions of books into children's hands and was considered by her to be among her greatest achievements.

The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️
