SPIEL, recap of day two! We had some fun meetings and we demo's PACT by @wulfhorngames.bsky.social and The Secrets of Warden Green by @bombyx.bsky.social.

Two nights ago we walked into a hotel and we were greeted by a very friendly group from Iceland. They gave us some snacks and I've been obsessed with the presentation of this one that is just called "3". A snack review will be coming this weekend.

First day of SPIEL! 💫 We checked out and picked up some of the games on our list. We managed to get a few, some were sold out and some games weren't available to demo. We also played a super fun demo of Dino Battle by @rebellionunplugged.bsky.social! 😁

Day one was great, so many people said hi, we are going to run out of postcards! Things we learned: - Games are expensive, we should have done a Patron pledge drive 😋 - We have fans in Finland, Iceland & Portugal! - Some people associate us mostly with Tik Tok, where we only post the weekly recap!

Funny how the PHP situation has been headline news in the Netherlands for a few hours and some major news outlets and government sites are going offline as a precaution. Meanwhile international news sites seem to make no mention of it?

Got a lot of complicated feelings about this and huge sympathy for those who have lost their jobs. I strongly suggest you read Mike's article because in the last few lines he nails the context, and the journalism deserves the click.

This is what is great about Spiel, none of the games were on my radar and now I need to check out the Book Women.

This reminds me of these maps, how is a game of rock-paper-scissors called in your town. I've played a lot of "blad steen schaar" as kid, but we moved to a "schaar steen papier" area and inevitably our kids will only call it that way 😱 (Source: taalverhalen.be)
