The Rise of Skywalker is exactly why I fell in love with #StarWars as a kid. It's exhilaratingly fun, messy, excessive - and I'm done apologising for loving it. My love letter to the end of the Skywalker Saga …. #TROS #SequelTrilogy medium.com/@sequelosoph...

Just did a #TROS rewatch. My love for this movie simply cannot be overstated. Full gush tomorrow … #StarWars

So, this is why you don’t watch (or comment on) a new series on only 3 hours sleep. Just rewatched the first two episodes again and suddenly it all makes sense and has me super- engaged. Really loving Visions quest for his own humanity.

VisionQuest really didn’t grab me. It suffers from the same expository-overload problem most Marvel shows seem to have - interspersed with pretty bland action scenes that are a shadow of their cinematic counterpart. If you love Marvel lore it’s probably fun - but it all just seems kind of hollow.

Stumbled across a reddit where they’re claiming the future of the Star Wars galaxy isn’t interesting because the sequels ”broke too much lore”. The more I’m reading it though, the more excited I get for the next trilogy, while my love for the sequels only gets stronger.

By design, the prequels were never necessary to enjoy the original Star Wars trilogy. It was actually the sequel trilogy that made them essential to the saga. Yet so many prequel fans refuse to accept the sequels - thus minimising the importance of the prequels. This is what’s on my mind at 1:01am

The people who hate it took their opinion from the Star Wars YouTuber they trust because the opinion felt right. Then they just defend it to the hilt like an idiot saying the sky isn't really blue. Spoiler alert - all YouTubers seek engagement & interaction for money so will always lean negatively.

maybe I'm reading the room wrong here and i'm sorry if so but I guess my point is some folks on here seem to view outsourcing as sort of inherently evil and it is not imo (provided that labour is part of a grouping that can represent their interests ofc, be that a codev outfit, a union or other)

Cannot believe so many Americans are considering not voting. WTF else do you people need to make a decision. So glad that for Australians voting is not just a right, not just a privilege - it’s a fucking requirement of the democratic system.

FIRST SUNDAY SKIRCLE WITH OVER 1K FOLLOWERS LET'S GOOOOOOO there are a buncha other people that aren't on here that I wish I was able to put on, but it'd be WAY bigger lmao just goes to show how many of yall I give a damn about, so thank ALL of you for the support 🫂

I refuse to accept the oft-expressed online sentiment “No one hates Star Wars like a Star Wars fan”. It’s so fucking dismissive and encourages asshole people to be the fucking worst about the saga. Can we try on “No one ♥️ Star Wars more than a Star Wars fan” for a minute?

Note to “First Time Watching/Reading Star Wars” YouTube reactors - if you’re plan is to skip the sequel trilogy, you can fucking miss me with your awesome hot takes and new found “love” for Star Wars.

It really is fucking infuriating! I had it crafted and curated with insightful and Star Wars celebrating channels, then I accidentally clicked on a tangentially shit-take video and instantly Star Wars and Sequel hate began flooding my stream from grifters and “First Time Star Wars” tourists.

Wait! The chuds assured me the return of the Snyderverse was imminent. Are you telling me they got it wrong AGAIN?

Still, I admit I’ve never really found Vision to be that compelling as a character, so I’m happy to concede the show is probably not made with me in mind. Though saying that, I had the exact same sentiment going into Lanterns and I absolutely adored that series from the first episode.

Its literally not, though. I'm doing a rewatch now of every single Star Wars property and new or old, it's all enjoyable. There's so much fun and creativity. Go binge a season of LEGO something or other and stop being such a sad sack.

Widow’s Bay was fine. It‘s a show that has fun with the worn 1980’s horror tropes but also uses them as a crutch. A dash of Northern Exposure style humour is probably its biggest strength. Still, for all the hype, I was expecting something with a bit more punch. Midnight Mass was far superior, IMO.

What will make it predictably frustrating is that over the coming years people will realise this and use it to attack the new Kinberg trilogy. Stay strong sequel lovers. Call it out. Don’t let them rewrite history again. Don’t let them tear down another trilogy. Don’t let the cycle continue.

Complaints about the ST “no plan“ don’t realise how bold its development actually was. Lucasfilm chose to embrace the filmmaking process, empowering the creatives to build a trilogy of films that remained connected, yet were their own individual visions. This will one day get the kudos it deserves.
