I feel like “butt naked” carries a slightly different tone than “buck naked”

Merriam-Webster@merriam-webster.com

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

Some of y’all got reading comprehension issues so gonna paraphrase: it’s dishonest to call a person of multiple marginalizations “privileged” just because they express concerns about the opposition party signalling their willingness to abandon protections for them.

Christopher Caldwell@seraph76.bsky.social

I hate the disingenuous framing of marginalized people who are not sanguine at the prospect of being crushed underfoot by a Democratic Party that has shown repeatedly that it will jettison any pretense of protecting the welfare of the vulnerable as “privileged”

If you are a white person and a non-white person repeatedly tells you what their name is and you insist on calling them a name of your choosing, you are engaging in racism, regardless of you feeling you hold no racial animosity or malice.

It’s Christopher. I’m in Oakland the now. And if me defending a Black, trans person living in New York has the power to “ratfuck” as you inelegantly put it the entire Democratic Party’s electoral efforts, they have bigger problems than one writer with a small following noting some of their failures

thee agnes de buffle@vanadiumzest.bsky.social

and yet chris lives, as i stated, in scotland, from where he’s ratfucking US elections

Bluesky liberals are so tiresome in their tunnel vision and lack of nuance. I want to be sympathetic, because I don’t think they want fascism any more than I do, but boy do they seem eager to jump on me for reservations about the Democratic Party being effective opposition

It’s funny how people accuse me of sitting elections out. I’ve been voting since I was 18. I voted in both countries I was eligible to this year. I just don’t think it’s a magic band-aid, and I think we need to hold our representatives’ feet to the fire.

My parents are Black. My grandparents were Black. All eight Grandparents were Black. My award winning collection of short stories is just as Black as all of us. It is only on the internet that strangers somehow decide I’m white.

STEMthebleeding@stemthebleeding.bsky.social

The problem is that privileged white people like you are too coddled to ever consider that sitting out of an election rewards the bigotry you then monetize condemning. You and your ilk are just terrorists who use pain as a form of fundraising while disregarding the consequences of your cowardice.

The Truth ⚖️ 🐝@pattykazusa.bsky.social

Just another chaos agent trying to convince you that your candidate has to be perfect for you to support democrats during this seriously dangerous time. Only listen to these people if you’re privileged and selfish enough to not care how other people are affected by your silent complicity.

As a citizen of Britain and also the United States, I can confidently confirm that Britain is not at all the least racist country in the world. They innovate kinds of racism here that Americans haven’t even begun to explore.
