Gonna be sad next month when I stop rewatching Are You Afraid of the Dark to save some episodes for next year. It's been an enjoyable nightly ritual to watch episodes shortly after midnight. But next month I'll have spare time that I don't really know what to do with. Maybe another midnight ritual?
Thinking about this in relation to The Forgotten City, where if you beeline to the final boss on your last loop, then during the epilogue the NPCs will have no idea who you are because all you did that loop was just run past them.
• This game is really weird about what stays or not in loops, plot-wise. One you get the notebook sticker, that is treated as being done by the game, as evidenced by the credits. But I didn't solve anything my last loop except stopping the moon, so like????
With Majora's Mask, I figured that at the very least you have to kill all the dungeon bosses before stopping the moon to get a better ending but no, it changes nothing about the ending. I guess stopping the moon stops all the problems the bosses were causing? Somehow?
The amount of times that my notifications have caused me to burst out loud laughing during super serious parts of books has to number at least a dozen by now.
I didn't do everything in Majora's Mask, but I did do everything that I wanted to:
• Got all masks, even Fierce Deity
• Did every Bomber's Notebook task(N64 edition)
•Got every item(excluding every piece of heart which is just whatever)
Now I'm all done just in time for the OoT remake next month!

• Shout-out to the two lovebirds getting married 5 minutes before the moon kills them.
• My favorite character was honestly probably Mikau. You see him 2 minutes before he dies, but he had a LOT of stuff going on before that that you get to piece together.

Thoughts on the game:
• OoT: Bizarro Edition
• Everyone dies, is dealing with death somehow, or is actively dead
• Why is the Mirror Shield screaming/the moon so angry?
• I enjoyed the dungeon fairy hunts more than I thought I would
• Transformation masks weren't as cool/helpful as I hoped
• The three day time limit was honestly more lenient than it needed to be with Inverted Song of Time
• Why is every guy a pervert in this game? There's even one living in the toilet of the inn! What, and I cannot stress this enough, the fuck.
And so begins my 4th or 5th playthrough of Night in the Woods. This time I'm actually going to only play the in-game days on the real life days they happen. Since the game starts on the 24th, it's when I'm starting!
Beat Majora's Mask and Alan Wake 2 on the same day. Beating both was my goal for October, so mission accomplished. Unfortunately MM has side content still and AW2 withholds the good ending behind New Game+, so that's cool.
I beat the final boss of Majora's Mask today and went the entire game without a guide. I wanted to beat it after getting the Fierce Deity mask, but it turns out that the way to get that is to 100% the game, so I'm going to start using a guide because I want that mask.
Went back to an earlier puzzle I was having trouble with, even after getting every item. Thinking about the only remaining thing I could use I said to myself "That's so dumb, no way it would work. I'm not even going to try it" and looked up a guide. You are not going to believe what the solution is.
Looked up another solution to something that I was having issues with.
How to bring down a chandelier:
Hookshot it? ❌
Bomb it? ❌
Bomb it with the bomb going off at the base of the chain connected the ceiling? ❌
Shoot arrows at it? ❌
Ground pound under it, with every wall at least 20 feet away? ✅
The last couple of episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark in this rewatch have been...familiar? I don't really recall anything, but sometimes I'll be blips that something maybe might be familiar. So it's possible I've seen them before, but apparently they didn't really leave an impression.
Once again, I'm not really qualified to say if these shows were scary, but the fact that I don't really remember them speaks volumes to how young me felt about them, assuming I did watch them.

I did actually use a guide once, but only to check what the reward of the swamp bow and arrow minigame was; I wasn't going to put my thumb through that kind of hell if the reward wasn't worth it.
And, honestly, all the minigame rewards should be upfront in-game anyway instead of ????.
Well, I'm pretty sure I just have the last boss left in Majora's Mask. Gonna do some extra stuff like getting stickers for people and heart pieces before going in. Not sure where the cutoff will be for doing the last boss; probably when I get too frustrated to continue without a guide.
I had to go on Twitter to confirm this was real because Ship Awesome Games In A Weekend having a hand with six fingers was so on the nose I was about to pass out
Holy shit, though, the organizers used ai to draw their fursona and the salt in the wound is that it doesn't even look like their fursona! If I were them I wouldn't go back even if the organizers started using real artists, after that.
