If you are interested in Alloy, I recommend reading "Practical Alloy" [https://practicalalloy.github.io/], which covers both structural and behavioral modelling

By the way, the plugin was built using AI-assisted programming (or vibe coded, if you prefer). I've used OpenSpec [https://openspec.dev/] and SpecBuddy [https://specbuddy.dev/] to guide and keep track of the workflow, and I've quite impressed with both

It's that time of year again! Tell me what your biggest problems are with adopting Kotlin Multiplatform or building KMP apps in the replies. Is it something with Compose? Is it the build system? Something around iOS? I'm all ears.

Companion Blocks & Extensions are ready for testing in Kotlin 2.5.0-Beta1. I've spent a good chunk of the last months working on this feature, so I'm very excited for the experimental release. blog.jetbrains.com/kotlin/2026/...

In case it's not clear from the example, this plug-in has 100% arisen from me getting tired of writing `.build()` when using Spring AI.

I'm super happy to announce my latest project: the Builder Lambda plug-in! github.com/serras/build... This plug-in re-exposes builders from Java in a Kotlin-idiomatic way: as a lambda in which you set the different properties. The generated code has no trace, though, it calls the builder directly.

Furthermore, you get IDE completion and diagnostics for free! For example, the plug-in ensures that properties are read-only, and that all required properties are set.

“Companion extensions and blocks” 🔥 This is a feature many of us have been waiting a long time for! Maybe years before I even knew this is what I wanted 😄
