Record voting turnout in Texas gives me hope, but I’m still concerned. Winning seats to block this administration isn’t enough. We need real change that protects people, improves their lives and puts their needs first. Getting elected is not the finish line. It’s where the work begins.

Early voting starts today in Texas! Ladies, have your documents ready, know your rights, and don’t let anyone intimidate you out of voting. If you’re in line when polls close, stay there. You still have the right to vote. Your vote matters. Why else would anyone work so damn hard to suppress it?

Pressure on election officials should concern us all. I’ll vote, but I’m worried about what happens if the process itself is undermined. Where are the leaders explaining how they plan to protect it? Is work happening behind the scenes? Silence leaves people guessing when we need answers most.

Been a minute. Peak season has swallowed most of my waking hours, but only 3 more days until I can function like an actual human again. Not that I’ve missed social media all that much. Apparently, being overworked and disconnected from the daily chaos has its perks. 😩😂

Choosing hope. Christian nationalism may be loud and organized, but it is not inevitable. Authoritarianism depends on people believing resistance is pointless. It isn’t. We can protect democracy, religious freedom and each other. They haven’t won. And we’re sure as hell not surrendering to them.

Vote like your life depends on it. Because it does.

“WE HAVE TO SHOVE ACCOUNTABILITY DOWN THEIR F***ING THROATS.” 🔥🔥 Katie Phang delivers a fiery sign-off on today’s episode of Sidebar with Katie Phang: “I don’t want any of you to ever think that we can’t get through this. But I want us to thrive, not just survive.”

If AI is ending humanity in the next few years, why are we still clocking in, paying bills and obeying rules written by rich people? We’re on “life support” but apparently Karen still needs that spreadsheet by 3. Imagine spending the apocalypse making billionaires richer. Capitalist slaves I guess.

Nothing like a little failing capitalism first thing in the morning on a federal holiday. Milk the life out of everyone until there’s no life left, then wonder why nobody has anything left to give.

Every day something new and ugly emerges, and I can’t shake the dread that voting alone won’t be enough, that the will of the people will somehow be undermined. I hope I’m wrong. I desperately want to be wrong. But hopelessness is winning today. Also, end-stage capitalism is gross.

Dear Dolly, What are we supposed to do without you? Your music moved through generations, passed from one family member to the next. You spoke up, stood tall, and somehow packed that much fierceness into such a tiny body.

There’s a hole in the world today, and there ain’t enough hairspray or plastic to fill it. What a gift it was to live in a world where you existed and to have your music become part of our lives. What a legacy. What a legend. I know you and Carl are excited to be together again.

I’m choosing optimism today. I’m seeing Republicans willing to cross party lines. That gives me hope for November. But if Democrats win, the pressure stays. Put people first. Fix what’s broken. Serve us, not donors. If you don’t, we vote you out too. Our loyalty is to we the people, not the party.

At this rate, between food recalls, water-hungry data centers and polluted air, who’ll have the energy to fight back? We’ll be too busy trying to find safe food, clean water and breathable air. They’re gonna be real bored when they run out of peasants to push around.

They’re openly talking about keeping power beyond 2028. Is anyone with power taking this seriously? I’m tired of being told the people must save democracy while those elected to protect it stand around waiting for us to fix a mess they helped create by refusing to listen to us in the first place.

Peak season starts at work, so I’ll be online less glued to my monitors more, working long hours and burning out before we’re even deep into it. Capitalism is exhausting. Whoever decided we should have to surrender most of our waking lives just to afford being alive really is a horrible person.

America has always sold itself as the land of opportunity. Growing up poor in the rural South, that wasn’t the America I knew. I knew struggle. When you’re at the bottom, “greatness” looks very different. Add this administration to the mix, and whatever hope remained feels a lot harder to see.

Someone shared an unverified theory about flock cameras, and watching us from bunkers. If it’s true, leave. The people who keep this country running will still be here. History is filled with ordinary people pushing back against concentrated power and making things better. We’ll do it again.

I’m not depressed. I’m just… reflective. Every day something happens that would’ve seemed unbelievable not long ago, yet we all get up, go to work, make dinner, and keep living. Sometimes I wonder if that’s how history always feels while you’re inside it.

I’m exhausted. Not just by politics, but by the whole system. Working to survive while watching people who already have everything demand more. We’re expected to sacrifice our lives to keep a machine running that doesn’t work for us. I’m tired of helping build a future I’ll never get to live in.

I’ve joked for years that Reagan, Walmart, and Fox News were the original starter pack for America’s decline. It used to be a joke. Now it feels more like an obituary written in slow motion.

I really hope my fellow Texans can put aside the political divide and vote for Gina and James. It’s time to start changing this state. It’s been too long since government felt like it worked for everyday Texans instead of powerful special interests.

The hardest part isn’t even the news anymore. It’s the constant whiplash. One moment I believe we’ll find our way through this. The next, it feels like everything is unraveling in real time. I’m exhausted from living between hope and hopelessness.

I’m looking forward to the day when “the likes of which no one has ever seen,” “everyone agrees,” “better than anyone,” and “the greatest ever” are no longer part of my daily vocabulary. My ears deserve retirement too.

The Daily Caller chose to publish an opinion piece titled “Enough Is Enough… I Choose Violence!” Whether it’s labeled opinion or not, publishing rhetoric that promotes violence based on conspiracy-driven claims is reckless. Opinions aren’t exempt from criticism, and publishers

are accountable for what they choose to amplify. We don’t bridge a fractured country by encouraging violence or legitimizing it through conspiracy theories. We only deepen the divisions that already exist.

This moment doesn’t call for louder voices. It calls for people with power, or who’ve held it, to use it. They know the institutions, the rules, and the pressure points. The rest of us will do our part, but we need leaders to lead, not just comment from the sidelines.

Labels like “terrorist,” “communist,” and “radical” aren’t just insults. History shows they can be used to justify treating political opponents as enemies instead of fellow citizens. I hope everyone committed to democracy is thinking several steps ahead. Hope is important. Preparation is essential.

The Odyssey was about being kind to everyone you meet, for they may be gods in disguise. It was also about the idea that when you destroy another nation, you destroy your own. Of course MAGA hates this message. They violate the fragile social bonds that uphold society. The president is a rapist.

Maybe this is what helplessness feels like. Watching events unfold, hearing endless commentary about what should happen, and wondering why it feels like nobody with the power to act is acting. I hope there’s a strategy. From where I sit, it doesn’t feel like one.

I don’t think we’re watching democracy erode in the distance. I think we’re standing in the middle of it. Threatening election officials, testing constitutional limits, and treating independent institutions as obstacles instead of safeguards should concern every American.

The strategy is to convince people elections can’t be trusted, I hope it’s only discouraging his own voters. The rest of us need to stay engaged and vote. I hope Democratic leaders are preparing now, not reacting later. If anyone tries to undermine confidence in the midterms, the response is ready.

My favorite little bit of hope - History says many will disappear, rebrand, and eventually be welcomed back. But I hope the worst of them have crossed a line they can’t uncross. They may never feel shame, but I hope history never lets them outrun the record they created.

You don’t spend months calling your political opponents dangerous because you’re confident you’ll win. You do it because you’re building a story your supporters will believe when you lose. We’ve seen this playbook before.

Sometimes the weight of everything happening at once feels impossible to put into words. I’m grateful I’ve lived long enough to remember a time that felt more hopeful. I know what this country could be because I’ve seen glimpses of it. That’s why watching what we’ve become feels so heartbreaking.💔

I often wondered this about some Christians who believe in the Rapture. If you believe you’re ultimately leaving this world, why be so focused on shaping everyone else’s lives through your religious beliefs? Why not let your faith speak for itself instead of trying to make it the rule for everyone?

Lindsey Graham lived to 71. Those who vote for war rarely pay its highest price. Ordinary families carry the sacrifice while those making the decisions move on. In my view, he served power more than ordinary Americans. That imbalance should never stop being questioned.

Texas: “We’re protecting children.” Also Texas: “Every adult, hand over your personal information to use social media.” I got back into Bluesky, this feels like another small erosion of privacy that’s being normalized. One step at a time.

Can we finally retire the idea that running a country is the same as running a business? A government isn’t a corporation. Its purpose isn’t to maximize profit. It’s to serve the people. Maybe it’s time some of us stopped confusing those two jobs.
