Not a business man but the only version of events that might sit remotely well with me would be a Ueda/TLG situation where the BW folks lead a contracted studio to finish MEU then the series be put to rest. EA would never. I want the game BW wanted to make, not just any other game set in that world.

Little bit of an update: The fan who made the initial petition says that the campaign's goal includes "bringing back the talent who made it special," though the actual text on the campaign hasn't been updated as of this writing.

Trouble is, even the #SaveMassEffect campaign is divided between people who are advocating for a new studio to pick it up because they think that's realistic and the ones who want BW to be able to finish what it started feel like this campaign's momentum means it's the only way they'll be heard.
