Tonight's bloody weird dream: bottles. Thousands of 'em, followed by frantically cleaning jaffa cakes from the otherwise pristine upholstery of what looked like somebody's private aeroplane.

Which is where they found a load of fluid in his abdomen and a growth on his spleen. Emergency operation, removed the spleen and flushed 3 litres of pus out of him. Only 40% chance of surviving it as he was so weak - he'd lost another 400g in the three weeks.

But here he is: exceptionally skinny, but eating and drinking properly again, doing his best to climb the stairs and get up on the sofa, and thoroughly pissed off about The Cone. £2k bill - mostly covered by his insurance, thankfully. If you have pets, get them insured!

Three weeks later... Relapse a week ago. Didn't eat or drink for four days, hardly moved. Brought forward the return visit to the vet. More IV fluids, more antibiotics, overnight stay for general anasthesia so thet could do x-ray and MRI scan...

Half a 2ltr tub vanilla ice cream left out to soften a bit, one carton custard (pref also with vanilla), a few sticks of rhubarb poached in a tiny amount of water with ginger and demerara sugar to taste. Mix, freeze, eat. You're welcome.

The last time I used Asda's delivery service it turned up with none of the fresh or frozen items. No explanation, they just weren't there. Tried again this week; ordered a load of stuff for delivery 6 - 7pm, got a text at 7.30 saying it was cancelled. No reason. So: sod you, Asda.

Fancied an affogato but couldn't be arsed to brew espresso. Put a few drops of garlic/chili Cholula on a scoop of vanilla instead. Highly recommended.

Remembir everye daye ys a goode daye to reach out to a friende and tell them how much you love them. Maybe buy them a booke. Bringe up an olde inside joke. All the sillye thinges and the serious thinges about friendeshippe, thei are all infinitelye valuable. Tyme spent thus wil nevir be regrettid.

I hate to say this but Prince Harry seems like a half-way decent bloke. Made a good job of his pre-Xmas skit on Colbert, obviously loves his missus. I may feel a twinge of regret when the revolution comes.

Short-run, cancelled-too-soon comics runs that haven't been collected (AFAIK) but should have been: Thriller Kaminski/Martinborough Creeper Peyer/Morales Hourman Avengers Inc Dakota North Investigates

Asda delivery yesterday, none of the fresh or chilled items in it. Morrisons this morning, very little on the shelves. Supply chain problems? The beginning of a food crisis? I'm up for a riot if it comes to it, who's joining me?

I made the terrible mistake of bodging together a playlist of my all-time favourite tracks and now it’s pretty much all I listen to. Or indeed want to. More than 7 hours of bliss & it’s darn hard to step away from it in search of pastures new.

I mean, I could go on about how a drunken mistake (not mine, I hasten to add) five years ago has led to me having to fork out nearly a grand this week, but what's the point?

13 hour day at work (sicknesses, maternity leave, unexpected resignation), roadworks all down the A10. Two hours to do a 25-minute trip. Get home, sit down to take my boots off - power cut. Sat here in the dark without even a cuppa. Pray for me and my non-existent children.

Caught this the other day. Hadn't seen it since was first released. It is utterly joyous.

Available for just another eight days on BBC iPlayer. Gloriously funny (proper LOLs throughout) and has Barbra Streisand ever looked more beautiful? www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Got a message from the vet: it's time for Kato's annual health check. This time, could you please provide a sample of his urine? Anybody know how to do this without losing an arm or an eye or whatever?
