We filed a Supplemental Ex Parte with the FCC to our Oct 5th filing concerning ATSC 3.0 viewer access to the Nov 17 nationwide Emergency Alert System test. We asked each station noted in Appendix A of that filing to disable DRM encryption for the test and more. www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/...

On this solemn 25th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on the extraordinary responsibility carried by broadcasters in moments of tragedy. Even as the events of September 11 unfolded—and members of their own broadcasting community were lost—broadcasters carried on.

They found ways to keep the public informed, connected, and reassured during a time of unimaginable fear and uncertainty. That commitment has continued through every crisis since.

Behind every broadcast are people who set aside their own fear and grief to serve their communities when reliable information matters most. We remember those we lost, and we honor those who continued—and still continue—to carry this vital responsibility.

As you plan for your long holiday weekend full of BBQs and time with family and friends, pause to remember the origins of the holiday as it is meant to celebrate workers and their contributions to society. From all of us at Silicondust, enjoy your holiday! news.clearancejobs.com/2021/09/06/l...

An interesting article on what some of the biggest media executives predict what the TV market will look like in three years. These insiders weighed in on government regulation, sports ratings and dominant streaming services. www.cnbc.com/2026/08/17/t...

What stood out most to us is, “People want live events, they want live news, and they particularly want live sports. They want things that AI is not going to be able to replicate. Live sports remains one of the last true mass reach experiences in our culture...

...In a fragmented world, sports still create communal moments. Families watch them together, friends text each other in real time, and as we’re seeing, entire cities change moods based on outcomes. So, I suspect premium sports remain incredibly valuable, perhaps even more than today.”
