Do people realise when you use a thermal power plant (coal) to power a data centre it uses a minimum of 4 x the water compared with a data centre powered by renewables? It's just thermodynamics #auspol #carnot

The AFL is the home of misogyny and racism. Scandal after scandal - the old "few bad apples" excuse. Wake up AFL it's systemic. We don't see this in our swimming team, or our aths team, why is it always AFL? ( Won't be invited to the Brownlow 🤦‍♂️) www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08...

abc.net.auAFL boss says suspended Swans will not be invited to Brownlow ceremonyAFL boss Andrew Dillon speaks to the media about the Sydney Swans scandal, saying "the actions of a few don't define the actions of the entire industry".

What amazes me is that having connected to the wholesale power prices. Electricity is close to free, and the bulk of the costs are from the transmission companies. #nem #powerprices

80% of Australians support a complete ban on gambling advertising. It’s time the government got on board. Join the campaign today to call on the federal government to protect young Australians from the predatory gambling industry and free our feeds from gambling ads.

Being attacked by the Prime Minster should not be this fun. Cripes Albanese, at least get some facts. (Or at least read your own Budget Papers!)

The Australia Institute@australiainstitute.org.au

Anthony Albanese says we at the Australia Institute need to be fair dinkum about a 25% gas export tax. Well, this is us being fair dinkum! @richarddenniss.bsky.social #auspol

Australia, your Prime Minister has gone full gas shill. Here's the transcript...ON HIS OWN WEBSITE. www.pm.gov.au/media/radio-...

Greg Jericho@grogsgamut.bsky.social

. @albomp.bsky.social has said today that @australiainstitute.org.au "needs to be fair dinkum" about gas taxes. Well he keeps saying the PRRT is ramping up. Guess what PM, your own budget papers show there is a ramp...but it ain't heading up. Fair dinkum, mate. Give the gas company spin a rest

All this chatter about CGT affecting house prices. I am old enough to remember when there was ZERO CGT on an asset held for more than 1 year. When I plot it out, CGT has not caused the house price escalation. There are basically 3 tax era's 0 CGT, indexed, and 50% #Auspol

Ed Husic calls out Japan’s hypocrisy of resisting gas export taxes while pocketing $40B in energy import taxes. “They import it, collect tax revenue, & make money reselling gas they’re not using themselves.”💥 Australia’s resources, Japan’s revenue. This has to change. #auspol

How much of a loser do you have to be as a president that you have to make an address to the nation about your war of choice on the day that the boldest space mission in over 5 decades launches 🤦‍♂️

As a former engineer in the automotive industry many of us looked at Australia's advantages ( farming) and thought rather than close the government should assist us to pivot. This is a winner we need to pick

Sydney EV@sydneyev.bsky.social

Remember when we had a decade of governments telling us EV tech wouldn't work, how's that going now? Australian company now developing an electric combine harvester... if only we could fund such development, instead of fossil fuels, and still suffering oil price shocks. linttas.com

Just remember that when you go to the pump and pay $1 a litre more than a month ago it's war profiteering. They dress it up as "Supply and Demand" but if this happened for any other commodity there would be outrage. The fossil fuel industry gets away with this kind of thing constantly

Tonight Carlton and the Swans will kick off the third AFL season since the Murphy report unanimously recommended a comprehensive ban on gambling ads. Once again, our screens and stadia will be polluted with wall-to-wall gambling advertising, a normalised part of sporting culture in Australia.

thenewdaily.com.auIts time for Parliament to recognise gambling's damage to healthWith gambling advertising a normalised part of footy culture, it's time to shed light on an issue the government is unwilling to address.

Australians are the world’s biggest losers when it comes to gambling. It’s a predatory system - the industry’s business model depends on people losing. What makes it even more disturbing is the ongoing acceptance of donations, gifts & perks from gambling companies by some MPs & Senators.

The share of the population living in extreme poverty is now higher in the United States than in China. When will more people realise that the US is only a democracy in name, not in action? It merely dances to the tune of the top 1%.

To be honest I am amazed at how powerless US federal workers are. They have to work without pay. If they strike they are sacked and black banned for life. This is just wrong. Forced to work without pay is slavery. If they eventually get paid there is no penalty on the govt for missing payments
